When do you do the cake cutting?

We did it later in the night

You can do it at either time! I don't think the order matters so much

You can do whatever you prefer. We opted to do it later in the evening. We had a huge cocktail hour and a 3 course plated meal, so we wanted guests to digest and dance off some food before digging into dessert!

We cut the cake after dinner but didn't serve it until later. Our servers served it at each guest's place setting so they could eat it whenever they wanted.

Many people cut the cake before dinner. That way, the servers can be cutting up and plating the cake, so it is ready by the time dinner is over.

We are doing it after dinner. We have guest with health problems. So we want everything early so Guest can go early. If they want.

I’m doing it later because I know certain family members will leave after the cake cutting. My reception is already short so I feel I need a way to make sure they stay at least a little while.
