When do new bridal collections hit the stores

gabriela, on July 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 5

If my wedding is over a year away, whats the latest I should have my dress by? I know I need to leave time for alterations.

I also want to ensure I pick from the latest collection out there... I'd hate to pick a dress and then have a more current collection come out with more options to choose from. Any insight would be greatly appreciated Smiley smile

You do realize that there are ALWAYS going to be more options to chose from and new collections coming out, right?

I do realize there are plenty of options, but my question was directed more to when collections are released.

    Thanks!

It depends on what designers you are looking at. Are you looking more towards David's Bridal kind of dress or an actual designer?

I ordered a Stella York dress at the end of May and its not expected to be in until late September/early November. I got it just in time lol. I still dont understand why ppl are shocked I already got my dress.... pff...

I think it depends on the designer.

Most designers release twice a year-- generally in late winter for "Spring" and late summer for "Fall" collections (I know at least some designers are sending their latest collections to stores right around now).

It is recommended that you buy your dress 6-9 months in advance-- it takes usually at least 4 months for the store to get YOUR dress, and then generally another two months for alterations.
