When did you launch your wedding website

Marie S. (aka Princess Leia), on October 26, 2011 at 10:44 AM Posted in Planning 0 22

I think I'll have my website done by the end of the week (minus Epics) and I'm wondering when do I launch it?

I launched it to family once it was done and put the wording on the invite for all other guests.

I had it up for a while and shared the link of facebook with family and friends that were invited to the wedding. I officially launched it to my guest through our STD which I sent out about 8 months before the wedding. I continually updated the website as we got more details.

We put the link on our STD cards, and so our guests first saw it when they got the cards in the mail (back in early August). Our parents had seen the site beforehand, but I guess the "official" launch of it would've been w/ the STD cards.

I sent mine to my friends and family as soon as it was "done". I showed my Mom first, and she loved it and told me to share it with everyone. In the sections I wasn't sure about, I just said something saying it will be updated as I plan more. I sent out individual emails and facebook messages with the link. My family members loved that I took the time to write something to each of them instead of sending a mass thing saying HERE IT IS.

*giggles* Launched into outerspace for all aliens to see in T-minus 2 days!

I'm so out of touch - LOL what's the correct terminology - if it's not launch? I still call my kids X-Box - Nintendo. LMAO

I have shown it to most family so far... everyone else will get to see it when we send our Save the Dates.

We gave everyone our link on our STDs. I wanted to wait until then because I wanted to make sure I had all the correct travel/hotel info. on the website before I showed it to everyone. Almost all of our guests our from out of town, so I really wanted to website to be "complete" when we announced it, and I ended up sending the save the dates out only once I'd completed the website Smiley tongue

We love nintendo! I don't know what the correct term is. I think you are right, I just thought it was funny. =) (I am in a good mood today)

I also put the link on the save the dates, but I didn't send them out yet.

Don't laugh - most of my friends and family are not on FB. I think maybe out of the 110 invites maybe 15 are Facebookers. Everyone, except FMIL (she's 83) is internet savvy though so I could send out emails letting them know to check it out.

We were done with it around January but we text, email and FB the link to everyone on our A list in June, we used it as our Save the date.

Hello date twin! I launched mine awhile ago, sometime in July I think. Once we got our STDs, that's when I started the website. I update it constantly with our To Dos, and things that are happening, and questions from family.

I am going to officially launch it when the Save the Dates go out at the end of November. Some family members have already seen it.

Marie S. you already know how I feel about my website. So at this point I don't think I will make it available for viewing until my save the dates have been dropped off at the post off.

Mek - I saw what happened and I'd be pretty ticked if "CNN" did that too. :-(
