When did you change into your reception dress?

wonderful moment, on October 23, 2009 at 4:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I was planning to change into my reception dress half way through the whole wedding. After everyone eats and the party is really about to get started. I was thinking about to excuse myself to use the bathroom and have my MOH or bridesmaid to help me out. I want it to be an surprise for everyone including my FH. So when are you going to change or when do you think is the best time to change?

Heck hon, I waited a Longgggg time to wear a wedding gown and it cost too much IMO, no way is it coming off until FH takes it off! LOL

But to answer your question, You could do it after dinner and your 1st dance and any other special dances you are doing, I think that would be a great time Smiley smile

I like that Aussie Bride. And Traci_Bob I like that as well, but for me after the wedding is the after party at my job. I will be pulling an all nighter and off to the honeymoon in the morning. So me and FH is getting another outfit for that as well. And I don't know what to wear for to that (hopefully pants).

Lol good one Traci_Bob. I believe you are right. I want to dance the night away. If I get on the dance floor it will be hard to get me off of it even FH can't do that. So I will wait.

I changed after the parent dances and cake cutting were done. I was planning on waiting until after the garter and bouquet tosses as well but I was very sick (gallbladder issues) and my stomach was in so much pain I couldn't wait to get into the loose, flowy reception dress! I loved both my dresses but wish I'd gotten more time and more photos in the formal gown....cant control everything though!

LOL wonderful, I almost about choked! But I think something similar, maybe not exact, would be very pretty, comfy, dancable, if it has a jacket like that, you could wear like a silky tank under it.

A good time to change would be after the formal dances with mom, dad etc. - this way the pics are out of the way and you can move on to the next dress and get your boogie on! Congrats!

When I am changing is after all pictures and our first dance and flowers and garter. the last picture of me in my wedding dress is one I want taken as FH is unzipping it and I unbuttoning his shirt (you can see why in my IB.. FH is pictured there). then changing in to have relaxed fun.
