Only a few family members and close friends know of our engagement. My plan is to announce this coming up May with an engagement party to follow. Is a year out too early for an engagement party? What has everyone else done or plan to do?

    I feel you should have an engagement party within 3 months of getting engaged, it's more about proximity to the proposal than proximity to the wedding! Is there a reason you are waiting to announce your engagement? We called family and close friends within an hour and announced on social media by the end of the day.

    I told Facebook like an hour after lol. We got engaged in June 2016, had our engagement party in August 2016, and our wedding is November 2017
