When did "the parents" meet?

My parents have met his Dad but not his mom and they probably won't until the ceremony or maybe the day before (if his mom comes early).

They met when we had been dating for about 10 months--we wanted them to meet, but nothing worked out sooner.

My mother met his father and gf on a few occasions since hes local. The mothers met around Christmas last year when she came to town for the holidays. We just went to dinner, nothing crazy.

They can meet at the rehearsal dinner if you would like since its convenient. If BOTH parents had already planned to visit you guys though then you can get something going then. If its going to cause more stress to you and your families, then I wouldn't worry about it.

We've been together 5.5 years. My mom met FH's stepmother at my shower. They'll all officially meet each other Thursday night at the rehearsal. We all live in the same state with my parents living a couple of hours away.

The mothers met at the bridal shower. The rest of the parents, day of the rehearsal.

Wow, thanks for the responses. Im actually surprised that so many parents met so close to the wedding. My family is from a small town in NY, and now lives in a small town in GA and in both those places it is highly unusual for peoples families not to know each other going into a wedding. So I have felt very odd knowing that our families have never met.

Our parents live 30 minutes away from each other so they met after we had been together for a year and a half. We got engaged after 3 years together.

Our parents will most likely never meet. Both our fathers have passed, and my mom lives 1300 miles away, and has no interest in coming to our wedding.

Ours will meet at the wedding. Most likely literally as people are taking their seats, or possibly even immediately after the ceremony. His parents wanted to meet mine, but mine weren't interested…

Bit of a sore point!

The first time our families spent a significant amount of time together was when FH and I hosted Thanksgiving at hour house last year. It went really, really well. So 10 months prior to the wedding.

My mom met FH's mom when I went dress shopping for the first time.

Ours haven't yet. Though we want to get that all out of the way this summer with a cookout.

They will meet a few days before the wedding. They're coming from missisippi 3 days before the wedding. That's when they'll meet.

His and my parents met years ago...but they want to go to dinner way before the wedding

Our parents haven't met yet either. My parents are in Ga and his in CO. His mom was planning a trip to GA last summer, she has a brother living close to my parents. So her plan was to visit her brother and maybe have dinner with us and my parents, but her trip didn't work out. So now, the parents will be meeting a few days before the wedding when his parents arrive in GA for the wedding.

Our parents all live fairly close to each other & we've been together since last Fall. My mom and his parents met last week at our house inspection, my dad & his wife haven't met them. They'll meet at the wedding.

His parents have met my dad on several occasions, but will most likely not meet my mother until the rehearsal dinner. Her and I have a very strained relationship.

Our parents haven't met yet. We've been together 2.5 years but have known each other for almost 15 years and somehow they've never met. I'm hoping to put it off until closer to the wedding but they are starting to ask so we may do a BBQ at our house this summer.

Ours will officially meet in person during the wedding weekend . Probably at the rehearsal dinner! Mine are in CA and his are in IL so it's not that easy to arrange something. They unofficially met on Skype after we got engaged, but that's it!

Ours met with in a year of us being together (going on 7 years). My parents attended a few of FH's races and met his parents there.

My mom and FMIL are planning stuff together for wedding. Hard to believe some are not meeting until the wedding!

Ours will be meeting on July 5th. My FH's parents live in PA, mine live in ME. His parents are coming up for the weekend of the 4th, so we figured that would be a great time to have them get to know each other!
