When are you doing your first dance?

John Smith, on February 3, 2020 at 8:20 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 9

We're having a late wedding (7pm), and I was thinking of going right into the first dance after they introduce us into the reception, but I've been told that that is kind of weird.

I want to do all of the events at the beginning, and we're doing the toasts and speeches during dinner, so I thought it may be good to get the ceremonial dances done before dinner and then go right to the cake cutting after dinner.

What are you doing?

We did our first dance after dinner and speeches. I've seen the first dance done before dinner plenty of times, but not the other spotlight dances.

We are doing our first dance after being introduced at the reception. We have the father/daughter and mother/son dance after dinner.

We are also doing our first dance right after our introduction. Then there will be a welcome from my dad, a prayer from FH's grandfather, dinner will open, then toasts and father/daughter mother/son dances.

Yup I'm mirroring Merline and Amber above, we're doing our first dance right after being introduced to our guests!

We did our first dance right after we were introduced. We used the parent dances to open up the dance floor at the end of dinner.

We did our first dance right after being introduced into the reception. It worked out logistically because everyone was already in place and the attention was already on us.

We are planning on doing our first dance after introductions at the reception. And also then do the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance. We will have 30 mins to kill before dinner is served so, I told my fiance might as well get those out of the way. lol.
