We're doing plated with a choice for beef, chicken, and fish. All being served with roasted veggies and garlic cheddar mash (except salmon being served with quinoa w/cucumber and cilantro and I think the veggies as well).

    Beef: Bacon wrapped filet medallions

Chicken: Parmesan crusted chicken w/ exotic mushroom & white wine sauce

Fish: Salmon w/ soy ginger glaze

We are doing plated with three entree choices. I also want to add a choice for champagne and sparkling cider since many of our guests do not drink. I think it will be seemless to have both option genres on the rsvp card

We are doing a served buffet. Southern BBQ! Our menu consists or pulled pork, smoked turkey, jalapeno cornbread, regular rolls, smoked yellow corn, mashed potatoes with gravy on the side, baked mac and cheese, green beans, sweet and unsweetened tea, all of the restaurants signature sauces, and salad and dressings.

We’re doing a buffet. I tend to prefer plated but with our menu (also Southern BBQ) buffet works better. If I’d chosen a different type of caterer (my venue recommended many different options) I probably would have gone with a plated meal.

We had a plated dinner because there so many allergies to keep track of, we felt it was just easier.

We had a buffet because it was cheaper and we could offer more options to our guests - and the food tasted AMAZING.

Sooo. I was all about the buffet. However, about 2 months into my engagement we attended a wedding that was a buffet. There was no table assignments so we had to fight to find a seat during cocktail hour, then when we did find a table after a rather exhausting 30-40 minutes, we were told to get up and go stand in line for the buffet.... I really just wanted to sit down with my friends (many of which i hadn’t seen in a while) and my fiancé and catch up. But the juggling of the tables and the buffet made it hard.

I understand and that not all wedding buffets are like that, and I actually do prefer a buffet for smaller weddings (under 80 people) but for my size of wedding I’m just going to do a nice plated dinner! served so my guests can sit and enjoy without the hassle of serving themselves!

We’ Doing a served buffet because our vendor offers more options that way and if anyone wants seconds they can go get more, but the soup will be brought to the table.

Originally we decided on plated but than we changed our caterer and will now be doing a bbq buffet because we were able to include a grand appetizer set up with our buffet.

Buffet for variety, amount, and warmth of food. But we had less than 80 guests, assigned tables, and tables were called up one at a time so not much standing in line. Appetizers were some stations, some passed though.

Both options offered alot but plated is more of the style for the dining/ venue room we have reserved.
