We worked together then eventually became friends. Everyone said he liked me, but I didn't think he did so I just brushed it off. 3 years later he took me to the Ripley's Aquarium for my birthday he bought me flowers. Half way through I was looking at the glowing jellyfish and he grabbed my hand and held it. I was shocked, but we continued to hold hands. We got to his house and watched some tv. Then as we were leaving he kissed me in his living room and took me home. 2 years later we started living together. And now after almost 8 years of being friends and 5 years of being together he asked me to marry him on Christmas Eve 2018 in his living room where we had our first kiss in front of our Christmas tree. We are Getting married June of 2020.

My husband and I met in high school!! We didn’t get together until 2 yrs later at 19 and 20. We were together 5 years before we got married. We went to the justice of the peace. So now we are renewing our vows. To celebrate 15 yrs of being together and 10 years of marriage. Bring that I didn’t get wedding the first time. I am having a big wedding for the renewal of our vows! And he bought me a New ring!!!!

We started talking to each other in mid April of 2011, I was a sophomore at Timken Senior High School, he had graduated from McKinley High School early and started at Stark State College (which was on Timken's property). A mutual friend of ours introduced us online and I was happy to get to know him. We were both fairly young, especially me only being 16, so of course the doubt from almost everyone came along with it. We hung out at the Monument a lot and we were at this beautiful location called The Garden Center on the night he asked me to be his girlfriend. I remember it clearly - we were debating back and forth whether or not the moon would come out from behind the clouds above us and of course, he won. The moon never came out of hiding. Then he asked at 9:34pm on May 6, 2011 right by the passenger side of his car, and all I could get out was "yeah" and I went right in for a hug. To this day he says it was the cutest "yeah" he ever heard. I had butterflies like you wouldn't believe and I was filled with excitement.

Fast forward several years down the road, on May 6th, 2018, it was our 7 year anniversary. We were heading out to celebrate by spending the day together and he had me go into the living room to turn off the ceiling fan before leaving; when I turned around, he was down on one knee with the ring in his hand. It took me about 5 seconds to realize what he was doing and I know that doesn't sound like a long time at all unless you're in that moment. At first I thought he was tying his shoes or something until I realized he doesn't wear shoes in the house. Then I was hit with complete shock when he asked "Will You Marry Me?". I ran to him to hug him and I started crying immediately. I was so happy! And the best part? He got it all on camera! I was so amazed at how he planned it all. We've talked about getting married more times than I can count through all the years we've been together and yet it still took me by surprise when he proposed!

GORGEOUS ring!

my fiance and I met just 6 months after my split with my ex husband. I certainly wasn't looking for anyone or anything when we met.

everything was very natural and organic. It felt right with him. I guess you could say I fell almost instantly, he felt the same way because, from the day we met we've never spent more than three days apart.

we've been together a little over two years now and we bought our home and welcomed our rainbow bay in June.

Firstly, I have to preface this with: we're not officially engaged yet.

We met online, but not exactly in the traditional way. I'd played Dungeons & Dragons a couple of times with my younger brother and his friends, and was getting into it, but he basically said "you can't play with us anymore". It was a bit uncool that his older sister wanted in on his hobbies 😂. So he suggested I try out a website called Roll20 to find an online group. I get quite bad social anxiety and the idea of putting myself out there in person when I wasn't very confident with the game yet, gave me literal hives.

I made an account at the end of 2016 and started looking at the games going, but didn't get much further than that. Fast forward almost a year later, I had just got out of a bad relationship that had alienated me a little from the few friends I had. I decided to give this website another try and find a weekly game as a way to socialize again. I applied for three games, and was accepted to all of them, but only one stuck. It was there that I met Jerrold. I immediately thought he was very sweet, dorky and lovely, but I really was not interested in dating again. Especially not an American (my parents are divorced and my father was American. It wasn't a healthy or great relationship). I had no interest in a long-distance relationship. We really only talked during the game time or about the game throughout the week, though, so I thought I was safe from "catching feelings".

Well, fate had other plans, and on the 30th of December, 2017, we stayed up all night messaging back and forth, and eventually, he called me on Discord and we kept talking. He'd also been hurt before and felt the same about getting in a long-distance relationship, but at that point, I was falling and falling hard. I'd always been super jaded when it came to love, but it was so easy with him. He felt the same, and two weeks later, we'd confessed that we were falling with each other. We started dating on the 27th of January.

For Christmas, I flew over to meet him and his family for the first time. In the past, we'd discussed marriage, he knew that he wanted to be with me for the rest of our lives, but wanted a to date for a while before getting married. Or so I thought. Not even two weeks after meeting in person, he took me to Kays, saying that he needed to pick up a watch that he'd taken in to be fixed (which was the truth). While he sorted that out, I had a look around. He asked what I was looking at and I pointed out a simple ring that had caught my eye and that I liked. He asked if we could see it, and when I'd tried it on, said that he'd like to buy it. Later he said, "The only reason that this isn't an engagement ring is that I'd like to meet your family next year and get their permission first, but next year, I'd like to ask you to marry me."

He'll be coming here for Christmas to get my mum and grandparent's blessing and then proposing, and then I'll move to the US less than a month later in January (I'm a dual citizen, so it's easiest for me to move there). He picked out the ring himself, but I've only seen a blurry photo of it, so I will update once he's here with the proposal story and a photo of my ring.

I plan on wearing my great x2 grandmother's wedding ring (which my grandmother had altered to have diamonds in the band), my engagement ring and then my promise ring on top.

And we still play D&D in the original group.

I've always loved this ring. It's everything I wanted for a wedding ring. I've always said to my Nan, this is the kind of wedding ring I want one day, and last year for Christmas, she had it resized, made a little more sturdy (it was very thin) and the missing diamond replaced and then gave it to me for Christmas before I left for America. It was my favourite present.

My FH and I met our freshman year of college but did not start dating until sophomore year. He will tell you I didn't give him a chance, though that is just not true! He proposed during our homecoming parade on Saturday! Video of the Proposal

Shamelessly we met on "plenty of fish" in November 2014 I was just about ready to give up on ever finding my person (which is sad because I was only 23 😂) looking back I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. We texted constantly from the time we woke up until we went to sleep. Our first meeting was at a bar about 2 weeks in (where we were both with our friends) so it definitely wasn't the best but it lead to him asking me on our first date FOR THE NEXT NIGHT. In my head I was thinking back to back nights idk about this guy. We went to dinner and a movie and then sat in my car and TALKED for 2 hours. I remember going home and telling my sister what a weirdo he was for not trying to do anything 😂 (you can see the types of guys I dated) about 2 weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend and we were dating - seeing each other whenever we could - planned a 10 day vacation with each other like 5 months later (we were absolutely crazy) now we have a home and a dog together! I came home late from nannying on a random Wednesday night and I saw Marshmallow (our dog) had a bandana on and I was like aww that's so cute you put my favorite color on her and he goes I think it says something you should read it and it said "will you marry my daddy" and I looked over and FH was on one knee and I was like are you joking and he opened the box and I was just a wreck. I have found my person and I can't wait to marry him!!
