I'm in the same spot. I can't reserve until a year out...and my mother may win the battle of our date. We were planning on June 5th but I checked the temperatures for where we'll be getting married from June 2019 and it was really hot. Since it will be an outdoor wedding my mother has suggested (begged/pleaded) that we move our date up to April or May and I'm seriously considering doing so.

I originally wanted August 2020 but it was just too expensive for what we could afford to do. Then I wanted June 19th cause it was the best probability of a nice day in the mountains. I ended up with the 12th because the 19th is the start of the summer peak season, so the vacation rental would cost us about $5,000 more to rent on the 19th vs the 12th lol. So I totally get it.

April and May are both beautiful months for a wedding.

I think that I remember you're planning an outdoor ceremony?? What are your location plans for your reception? Wow $5K more? I would of changed the date too! Smiley xd Are you worried about the heat?

I feel like my mother is overreacting about our June date and I really don't want to change it but I also don't want to talk about it for the next year and a half either. Smiley ups

We’re getting married in the mountains (Rocky Mountain National Park) and the average high in June is about 65 degrees so I’m suggesting my guests bring a sweater xD

We’re looking to rent a vacation home. There are several up there that house 13 couples (or 26 people willing to share) which would provide arrangements for about half our guests, and a place to hold the reception. And it’d cost about $2500 which breaks down to approximately $172/person for a 3 night stay.

The last things we have to do are go through our RSVPs, contact those who have not responded and make our seating chart. As well as verifying our numbers with our venue and caterer, placing the alcohol order at Total Wine & purchasing the plates and silverware from amazon. There are a few more things to purchase for the wedding decor wise, and we do have to make the dessert bar, but those are easy things that can wait to be done a little while longer. We're so close!

Sending out invitations! I wanted to get them out a week ago but my printer didn’t like our envelopes so now I have to try a different printer. Then we have our cake tasting next month!
