These stories made me realize I've never been to a bad wedding. A boring dry wedding with not enough non-alcoholic drinks or food, but not bad compared to these. The one where only virgins could catch the bouquet and they made you wear shawls was my favorite though. Too friggin funny. I love these stories!!

I’ve been to one where my name was spelled wrong on the invitation.

My brother’s wasn’t a disaster outright but it was difficult. The location was very pretty but it is an hour drive from civilization up an incredibly winding road up a mountain. Two bridesmaids got carsick on the way up.

It it rained sideways the morning of and the ceremony was set up and taken down three times because of the weather. And then the floor. They had positively used a friendor and were surprised by a personalized decal on the dance floor. This was really nice except the venue called at 9 the next morning to tell them that they lost the security deposit and would be sued for more because the floor was ruined and the bride the next day had to deal with the image on the floor. When the caterer was finally contacted, he said “oh yeah, the venue wouldn’t let us mop. I’m happy to go back up there and do it but they kicked us out before we could get it done.” The “ruined varnish” was actually the decal pulling up dirt and mud.

Less sa than a year later the website of the venue was boasting brand new floors.

This thread is hilarious!!! How do these people not realize how terrible they are\their wedding is?!

We went to a friends wedding last year and she had a lot of kids. Her nephew had to much sugar and got to close to the cake jumping around like crazy and pushed the table and her 4 tier cake went tumbling right down to the floor along with the 2 centerpieces next too it. She was so upset...some events just aren’t for kids in my opinion...

I went to a dry wedding that the bride and groom spent so much time outside taking pictures that guests just started leaving.

My cousins wedding was pretty fun... she had a really good DJ and the weather was perfect except she didn't have any food or water. she only served crackers and fruit and wine and beer. so we were starving and dehydrated at the end of the reception.

Worst wedding I’ve been to was my FH was invited but didn’t get a plus one. He was upset since we’d been dating for awhile at that point. Asked the groom if it was an oversight and was told no we just don’t have enough room. I was fine with it because I was on vacation and came back the morning of the wedding anyways. The day before the wedding I get a call from FH saying I was now magically invited because someone cancelled I didn’t have anything to wear and I was flying into an airport an hour away from our apartment. FH gathers all my stuff picks me up at the airport and I get ready. The wedding is outside and it’s an unusually hot day for the fall, it’s running an hour behind. I got sunburnt. After the ceremony come inside to find they didn’t even bother to rework the seating chart so I can’t sit next to FH. The buffet was all heavy food and looked gross so I ended up just eating a salad. Dancing and drinks though were at least good.

Went to one in the fall where the bar line was 20 min per drink (even water after dinner was over) and I was starving when we left! Also went to another wedding where the DJ splayed weird songs that were hard to dance to (I just remember getting to a point where I was trying to stay on the dance floor and then the DJ put on “I’m waking on sunshine” and I couldn’t do it anymore. It’s HARD to get me not to dance lol.)

Most weddings I’ve been too may have a thing or two that kind of sucks, but aren’t horrible!
