Please, please, PLEASE don’t take this as me being rude. I grew up in Tampa, FL & moved to the Carolinas about 6 years ago. A couple years after moving to North Carolina, I was REALLY missing the beach & decided to make a trip to Myrtle Beach for the weekend (thinking it was going to be like the beaches back home). I was pretty disappointed with the beach. The sand was Shelly and the water was dark. We ended up spending more time at the hotel pool than the beach. Since then, I’ve talked to a lot of people from the Carolinas who say it’s called “Dirty Myrtle” and there’s other beaches on the Carolina coast that are much nicer. Idk if you’re set on South Carolina or if you could look into some North Carolina beaches? Have you thought about Florida?

I definitely don't take it as being rude. I'd much rather you be honest and tell me what you think rather than me going and wasting my time and money on a place that isn't worth it. We don't really have our hearts set on anything for our honeymoon. We thought myrtle Beach would be nice. I never been there but my fiancé has a couple of years ago. I'm open to other ideas. We go to Florida every year, his grandparents live there, I absolutely love it and it's perfect for weather for the time I would want to go. But I think he wants to try going somewhere different for our honeymoon. Like I said I'm open to suggestions. And thank you so much for your input, saves me a lot of disappointment and money.

We are going to Myrtle beach in April for our honeymoon! Just for 2 or days and then to Charleston for the rest of the week. To be honest we don't really have anything planned other than hotels. I think we will probably just wing it

We're planning on going to Myrtle beach in August for our honeymoon. We've been multiple times that time of year in the past and really enjoyed ourselves. I don't think the sand is too shelly or the water is too dirty, but I've also never been to the white sand beaches of Florida. It's not as hot as Florida and harder to get sunburnt, which I think is a real plus for a beach vacation. Either way, I hope this helps!

Late July or August. The water is cold in the early part of summer.

What part of Florida do you visit often? Maybe an idea would be Key West? Believe it or not - I’ve actually never been to the Keys & from what I’ve been told, it gives off a completely different vibe than other Florida beaches.

But, I think it also depends on if you care about it being more of an adult or family friendly beach...I remember Myrtle Beach having families and kids everywhere.
