What's On Your Menu??

There's so many possibilities! There's vegan/vegetarian, chicken, fish, steak and beef. It can even be special like pretty darn fancy or really relaxed like pizza, Italian or BBQ. What will or did you choose??

Our menu tasting for our venue is scheduled for next month and I can't wait. When we went to their Open House, we tasted a few things and were able to decide on our apps that we'll be serving. We're still working on it but so far we have:

Appetizers: Mini crab cakes with remoulade & Spring rolls with thai sweet chili sauce

Salad: Mixed Seasonal Greens - Grape tomatoes, cucumber, julienne carrots, red cabbage

Entrees: Chicken Paillard with white wine and parsley infused cream

Classic London broil with cabernet mushroom reduction

Pan Seared Tilapia with spicy nantua crawfish sauce

Dessert: White Almond Wedding Cake with Raspberry Filling

    Hello

It kind of depends on the sort of theme you're going for. We're Italian so we picked imported Italian meat & cheese platters for the appetizers. The entrees will just be filet mignon, crab cake, and chicken, with a free vegetarian option.

You want to have a good variation, and consider what your guests typically like. Ask your fiance.

Filet was a given for us.

That's sounds great. We actually have our menu solidified. I didn't even think to add it in my post.

I ended up going with Italian! Price influenced it a bit. I also liked it because it's only two blocks from my venue! Here's the restaurant I'm using: https://giadastrattoria.com/catering-menus#0ef2f23d-3ce0-4051-92e9-47e23ad169e0

    We're doing the following:

    Ceasar or House Salad

    Rolls

    with choice of:

    Homemade meat lasagna

    Penne Alfredo with Grilled Chicken

Of course, we'll have a space for anyone to indicate any dietary/lifestyle restrictions. I know we have a couple of GF folks, so I'm sure we'll have to work something out for them!

We’ll be skipping cocktail hour so no appetizers. We have a salad course that consists of mixed greens, carrots, lettuce, purple onions...etc w/ dressing. Our Entree options are: Chicken Acapulco & Parmesan Chicken with Steamed Mixed Veggies & Garlic Mashed Potatoes. And we’ll also have a chicken Alfredo pasta so, a lot of chicken lol. For bread, we got dinner rolls w/ butter. And for dessert, we have a donut wall, chocolate chip cookies, hopefully banana pudding and a three tier cake that has 3 different flavors. Plenty of food for our guests!

Lol yea. That is a lot of chicken. Nothing wrong with that. Sounds good! We definitely have a few dessert options plus either a 3 or 4 tier cake (not sure yet).

We chose BBQ. We both love our BBQ and it was within our budget. We are serving 3 meats brisket, ribs and chicken. And 4 sides southwest corn, potatoe salad, green beans, and brown sugar caramelized carrots.

I think we’re going to go with a mix of Italian and PNW local food! Our venue is a restaurant and offers dishes like gnocchi and chicken parmesan. 😊

My FH is super Italian so we knew that we needed lots of variety of food! When guests arrive at the ceremony, we are doing a small snack with a passed beverage.

    Cocktail hour:

Charcuterie board, fruit and vegetable display

Passed tomato bruschetta, chicken and lemongrass dumplings with thai chili sauce, petite arancini with tomato basil sauce, beef wellington, and scallop and bacon skewers.

Appetizer: Penne pasta with garlic pesto alfredo sauce

Ceasar salad with fresh rolls and butter

Dinner: choice of Apple Cranberry cornbread stuffed chicken, filet mignon, or vegetable risotto with seasonal vegetable and rosemary and olive oil roasted potatoes

    Dessert: Apple Crisp

We are only doing a small cake for the two of us to cut but we are having a desert table after the cake cutting with canolis, cream puffs, and then these flavor cupcakes: Lemon Raspberry, Apple cider donut, funfetti, pink lemonade, triple chocolate, champagne, and strawberry lime margarita

We are also doing a late night slider station with pulled pork or cheeseburger sliders with waffle fries, a mini pizza station, and chicken tenders with waffle fries.

We will have takeout cupcake boxes as well as take out boxes that will have our monogram on them in case people want to take home some late night food or dessert!

Wow! All that sounds delicious. We'll be having goodie bags/boxes as well. Didn't think to have anything on the box but monogram sounds like a nice touch.
