What's On Your Menu??

Jasmine, on April 5, 2021 at 12:34 PM

There's so many possibilities! There's vegan/vegetarian, chicken, fish, steak and beef. It can even be special like pretty darn fancy or really relaxed like pizza, Italian or BBQ. What will or did you choose??

We're having 3 apps and Caesar salad. Chicken and waffles, skirt steak and salmon for dinner with sautéed broccolini and truffle mashed potatoes for the sides. There's also going to be a dessert table with assorted cookies, brownies, lemon bars and macarons.

Thank you. Trying to give a little to everyone. My mom laughed when she saw chicken and waffles and I'm like, it's fine. FH and I are pretty......unique lol. We'll also have kids there so anyone with kids who are somewhat picky, it's like how can you go wrong with chicken and waffles, right?? lol

We are doing a duet plate as well. I was freaking out about the rsvp and menu since most weddings I’ve been too were either like one of two options or buffet so I didn’t know how to word it on the rsvp! Do you know how you’ll be doing that or am I over thinking this whole thing?

We were originally going to have a brunch vow renewal, but our venue is changing and the new venue only hosts evening events... so I'm changing things from my original vision.

    For the cocktail hour:
    Mini Cuban sandwiches
    Beef empanadas with pineapple chutney
Goat cheese on baguettes with seasonal jam
    Proscuitto-wrapped peach skewers

For the reception, we're doing action stations. All of these would be smaller portions so people can get as much or as little as they want:

Texas barbecue - smoked beef brisket, creamy macaroni and cheese, smoked baked beans, dill potato salad
Tacos - choice of ground beef or grilled chicken, variety of taco toppings, tortillas or chip base for salads
Poke bowls - choice of (raw) salmon or tuna, variety of toppings (grape tomatoes, carrots, mango, edamame, seaweed salad) and sauces (soy sauce, spicy mayo)
Pizza - margherita, spinach and artichoke with white sauce
"Fire and Ice" dessert station - flaming donuts (glazed donut holes with Kahlua, brown sugar, and cinnamon, lit on fire by the chef) and liquid nitrogen ice cream (banana, strawberry, pistachio, vanilla, and chocolate, flash frozen by the chef)
Wedding cake - roasted almond cake brushed with Frangelico and filled with hazelnut praline buttercream and dark chocolate ganache, dark chocolate cake brushed with Grand Marnier and filled with orange marmalade
Signature drinks - blueberry lavender lemonade (non-alcoholic) and rose jam margarita

It looks really wacky typed out, but really, I just want to have good food and want everyone to have something they enjoy. Since it isn't a wedding, I feel like I can have fun with it, and basically just have a big dinner party.

    Dinner

    App is TBD

Short ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetable side

    Chicken Sorrentino

    Vegetarian pasta, ravioli or risotto

    Dessert

Wedding cake and an assortment of cookies, brownies/blondies and macarons

Our guests have the option of apple cider chicken thighs, tangerine pork tenderloin, or stuffed acorn squash as a veggie option. All three have the same sides: roasted potatoes w/ a garlic aioli and roasted asparagus.

For passed hors d'oeuvers we are having mac and cheese bites, caprese skewers, and swedish meatballs.
