What would you do

CountryBride, on February 4, 2021 at 4:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi lovely ladies, after talking to my fiance we are undecided so here is the situation. our venue is a bring your own booze and bartender so we have already booked what I thought was a good bartending place. their site said they would provide complimentary pickup of the alcohol. and return of the unused alcohol as offering us " deep discounts" for the alcohol. She had emailed me on Saturday stating that I need to pay my invoiced. I paid it 2 weeks ago. so I called her on Monday and she was rude but we worked it out. I had asked where should we do our shopping? for the liquor and she said oh that's not for you that is for the premium package which was about 800 out of our budget, I had looked around and found a bartending service that includes the alcohol and mixers in his package. and he only changes for the adults. the owner has experience at my venue and is sweet and hilarious. so here is the dilemma we like things from both and have already paid a deposit on Option A please tell me what you think

Option A,

Pros

1. we already paid them we will not have to deal with the owner the reviews on the bartenders are great

2. we can buy whatever alcohol we want.

3. they are cheaper than option b

Cons

1. The owner is rude

2. we paid already paid a nonrefundable 250 deposit my fiance said it's fine gave me his blessing to change bartender companies if I want to by saying we don't need to worry about if we lost the money

3. it's shady that they offer on their website complimentary services but after you book with them they state that is only for the higher up packages

4. paying 605 for just bartenders would have to pay for alcohol that we have to get ourselves. mixers, garnishes, glassware, napkins. ice bins for ice

Option B

Pros

1. provides friendly service

2. Provides bartenders, alcohol. mixers, garnishes, glassware, napkins, ice, bins for ice

3. has provided services at our venue before

4. his list of alcohol has most of what we want on our wish list of alcohol choices

5. they make the drinks fun

6. they do over 300 events per year

Cons

1. haven't booked them yet

2. has to go with his alcohol list which almost everything that we would order besides malibu, Busch beer my fiance's last name is Busch and I want that to be a beer choice. is not on his list but he would throw in bottles for us for an extra 40.

3. his price for everything is 2300 that is 3 types of beer, 2 types of wine, champagne, and 4 hard liquor choices.

i don't know if that is a good deal or not.

tell me what you guys think?

Option B hands down. If a vendor is rude or shady, do NOT give them your business because it gives them the idea that their unprofessional behavior is perfectly ok. Then write a review to steer other brides away from Vendor A.

I would personally do option B because it puts less on what you have to do. What is your guest count? That may be why the total is $2300 they tend to increase per guests or if they have to bring another bartender as well.

Option B seems the way to go, honestly! Dealing with rude vendors is the last thing you want to do when planning a wedding.

I also think option B and that price sounds pretty correct. To give you an idea, our bartenders are friends of FMIL and she will be paying them (two people) I think $15-20 an hour. They will be bringing equipment and mixers but we have to purchase all cups and all alcohol. We're having a similar ratio of alcohol to you (for about 90 drinking guests) and while we haven't started purchasing yet, I wouldn't be surprised if it got into the $2000 range.
