What will the fathers wear?

The same as the GM's for us. He will have a different bout though.

Mine are wearing the same thing as the GM.

My dad keeps threatening to wear something from Miami Vice.

My FH and the GM will be wearing grey/dark grey suits.. I am not sure if either of our fathers will be wearing grey.. We are not giving them a dress code (I dont think??) i would actually prefer them wear something that isnt the same as the bridal party.

My GM's are in light grey. dads will be in dark grey.

My dad is wearing tux as the same as GM but I let him pick his own tie and accessories.

My dad is wearing the sane thing as the groomsmen, but FH's dad is not. We gave them both the option to choose whether or not they wanted to match. I definitely don't think they need to match.

My dad owns one suit and I don't think he knows how to wear anything else that's not jeans and suspenders. Ha. He can wear whatever he wants though because I love him and I'm glad he's flying in from Tejas for my matrimony.

Typically the groom and fathers have the same or similar, and the groomsmen are typically in whatever your wedding color is. There is no real rule though. The tuxes/suits should be the same, but the vests and ties can vary.

We chose to have FH, fathers, and ring bearer (nephew) in the same tuxes, vests, and ties. The best man will have the same tux, but his vest and tie will be coral to coordinate with my MOH. No other bridesmaids or groomsmen for us, but if we had them, they'd also have the coral.

Fathers tend not to match anyone. I still have no idea what he's wearing. He'll probably borrow from my grandpa, he works with can can dancers in his spare time and has threatened to steal one of the ladies' dresses lol

FH and Groomsmen will be in kilt suits. I can see my stepdad wearing a kilt, maybe even FFIL if I ask him (it cracks me up that I can ask him to do things and FFIL will but if FH does, he won't), but I don't see my dad ever wearing a kilt. So, I pretty much told the three of them wear whatever they like

The groom and groomsmen are in gray one-button suits with matching gray vests and teal paisley tie to match the bridesmaid gowns. The dads and my brother (the officiant) are in the same ensemble, but their suits are black and their ties are the same paisley in platinum.

Black tux- same as the GM, but with a different bout.

All of the Dad's are wearing what they want. My FH and his best man are wearing Navy suits. I think it depends on if you are having a formal wedding or more casual wedding.

@STBeMrs Musser hit it on the head, is it formal or casual.

I would expect if it is formal they would match the GM, but the fathers also could wear a black suit (maybe not need to rent it) and still be in the same color palette (matching).

At my wedding, the men wore whatever dark suit that they had.

They should coordinate with the GM in color and formality. FH & our GM are wearing gray suits, vests and matching ties, so the dads are going to also wear suits (gray or black, not the same exact suit as GM). Their ties will be different but coordinate with our colors.

Our fathers will wear the same tux as FH and GM, but a black vest and tie instead of colored.

Our dads will wear the same tux as the guys but with black best instead of red.

So I just logged on specifically to ask this question. Way to go, and thanks for the info everyone else!

Hahaha, whats up with the dad's threatening to wear can-can dresses or Don Johnson outfits! My dad wants to wear a Mariachi suit! But I think I've convinced him to wear a navy blue suit, like the rest of the groomsmen. We bought the dads ties that compliment the GM's. At my sister's wedding, the dads wore the same thing the rest of the guys did.
