What were the 5 best things about the last wedding you attended?

*my nephew being generally awesome while i was toasted

*entire family socializing

*my father (for my step sister's wedding of course) made a speech that was hilarious.

*DJ was all around pretty good.

Bonus:

*my sisters bio father trying to pick a fight with me, conveniently he hadnt seen me in a bunch of years and forgot who I was. (my sisters face was hilarious when she found out. I didnt fight him but he was in my face and i was very intoxicated)

I only need three - open bar, food and good music

Sadly I only have a few things I really liked about the last wedding I attended:

*The venue had lots of shade so it wasn't too hot on the summer day

*There was lots of parking

*Their cake was fantastic

I would've liked:

*Some alcohol (I snuck 2 6-packs of smirnoff ice in for FH, myself and our friends. When the bride and groom noticed, they had some too...)

*Longer reception (it was like 2 hours and there was only the first dance and then everyone went home)

*A DJ (they used a speaker and Ipod and it kept malfunctioning and stopping)

*Awesome ass DJ. stillll considering ditching my deposit on the DJ I hired and hiring that guy. Kept everyone dancing.

*Open alcohol- beer, wine and sangria bar.

*everyone was buzzed and having a good time and laughing

*short ceremony

*couple came around and visited with each person at each table and got a photo with them

1) the couple

2) the venue...indoors with a deck on a lake

3) ceremony n reception at 1 location

4) museum venue so the long cocktail hour was still entertaining

5) food was delish

The 3 things I like best are: Good food, good conversation (with friends/family at our table), and good music (but not too loud we can't have a conversation).

I limit myself to 2 glasses of wine per evening, so open bar/booze in general isn't a concern.

Sadly, with most weddings we attend, we rarely get 3 out of 3.

Classy string quartet during dinner, bride's dress, venue had an indoor and outdoor option by the river, sit-down service with very impressive waiters, everything was run very efficiently - no awkward gaps

Sangria bar!! I would love that! I don't think I've ever seen that at a wedding.

I love the idea of taking a picture with each guest too! Thank you!

-seeing all our old college friends again

-seeing the groom happier than I've ever seen him in the last 6 years I've known him. (It made everyone so happy)

-the shuttle the bride & groom provided back to the hotel after the reception

Lol oh no OP! It was beautiful! It just wasn't what I was hoping for in a wedding. It was on a small budget with money saving in mind so it was easy to see where costs were cut you know? It's helped me though in deciding what I really want my guests to experience at my own wedding. Good luck girl! I think it's wonderful you're asking this question to make your wedding the best experience for everyone!
