We visited an art gallery as our first venue prospect.

The first place we visited was actually my high school’s rival school! It was simply advertised as The Pratt Mansions, and when we got there I realized it was, indeed, that school. It’s such a gorgeous venue (landmarked mansion across the street from the Metropolitan Museum of Art), and it did, in fact, become the one! We booked our photographer in part because his photos at the venue were so amazing, and he turned out to be really wonderful and affordable.

I still can’t believe that venue is a school, though. Their auditorium/where we will have our ceremony and dinner is an oak paneled ballroom with crystal chandeliers. The youngest children eat their lunch there on school days. 😲 My high school looked like, you know, a school.

The first venue we visited was Locust Grove/ Samuel Morse’s home in Poughkeepsie. We hike the grounds there a lot and the space they have is absolutely gorgeous, but they’re price was high for only the space ($3500 to step onto the grounds). We went to Villa Borghese in Wappingers two hours later for that tour and I immediately fell in love! It was just perfect and they had our date and time available. We booked it that day! FH admitted to me later on that he has wanted to get married there since he was a child 😍

The first venue we visited was a venue in downtown Knoxville. I can't remember the name at the moment, but it was not the one. We went with a venue in Morristown.

We toured the only venue in our hometown in Florida. I absolutely loved the venue but the price was wayyyyyy too much. But the bridal suite was to die for!

I looked at a lot online, but the first one we toured in person was Windsong Estate Event Center. I was pretty, but it wasn't in the mountains so it just wasn't right. I also couldn't stop staring at the traffic light directly out the windows, and if we did our ceremony there I would have spent the whole ceremony wondering if the guests were staring at the traffic light too!

A cidery. We ended up picking a farm very close by that was a tenth of the cost.

The Embassy Suites RDU! with most of our guests coming from out of state I originally wanted to stay convenient to airport/downtown.... The hotel was beautiful, but their carpet was terrible and I just couldn't get past it.

My first venue was Spring Lake Venue. It was beautiful. The only bad thing was the reception was going to be inside and our guest list is about 200 people the inside on sat 100.

We didn't visit anything because we live in a very small town and options are very limited!

The very first venue we visited was a was exactly what we were looking, it just wasn't big enough. We went with the second venue we saw.

The first venue we visited still breaks my heart. It was a BEAUTIFUL barn that had the perfect ceremony backdrop, everything I dreamed of. It fit out budget, our guest list etc. But the parking lot only held 12 cars, everyone else needed to park 5 miles down the road and take a shuttle to the venue. I couldn't pull the trigger after talking with friends and family about it. I do LOVE the venue we chose, a historical hotel in a very old city on the ocean, and it was the second venue we saw, BUT I loved that barn.

Because of our budget we already knew where we wanted it to be.

The first venue we visited was Sea Cliff Manor in Sea Cliff, NY. They were so caring and professional and made us feel so welcome. It ended up being the one!

We knew immediately that we could be very frugal by renting a pavilion in a local park. I just have to hope that we will be able to reserve it! The park does not allow you to book your date until the year of, and we have a date of June 20, 2020. So wish me luck, really hoping it works out!

We booked the first venue we visited. The price was right. We were also excited to get a Saturday evening in August.
