What vendors to include in catering count

laura, on May 10, 2017 at 8:50 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 23

Which vendors do you include in your catering count? I've heard various things on this. Like, I know the planner is obviously included and my DJ, and I know not to include the hairstylist as she is leaving, BUT who are you including? I'd rather include more than less to be safe! My ceremony musicians are only booked for an hour so I wasn't going to include them. Opinions and advice welcomed please Smiley smile

Photographer for sure. They're sticking with ya for a long time (all day if you have getting ready pictures) and you should make sure they're fed. A good photographer will time when they eat so they can still get the shots you want of the head table and toasts or anything else.

My photographers are getting meals and so is my DOC. My DJ is only there for 5 hours and doesn't require a meal but I'm pretty sure I will add him anyway. 5 hours is a long time.

I included my photographer, DJ and DJ's assistant and DOCs (we had 3) We were unsure about other vendors, so we asked them before giving our final numbers.

It's in my videographers contract that I have to provide a meal. I'm also providing for the dj and assistant and both photographers.

Typically you would include your photographers, Dj/band, video person, photo booth person. Any other vendors that you may have that are not listed would be fed at the venue.

I think you should count any vendor that will be at your reception

Anyone staying throughout the reception would be served a meal of some sort.

For me that is the photographer, coordinator, DJ and videographer.

Officiant is not staying after the ceremony.

You think I should include a photo booth attendant who is there for 2 hours? Thanks!

Idk but I'm including everyone. Security, bartender, officiant, photog, photog assistant, and DoC. People are better when they're not hungry.

I wouldn't just include them in your count; make a separate count for them and ask your venue about vendor meals (which are usually less) and seating.

Typically just the Dj, photographer, videographer, and wedding planner/DOC (if you have one). My DOC is provided by the venue so she isn't included in our count as per their request). Some ppl also include their officiant either as a courtesy or become there is some other prior relationship pastor/friend/relative.
