I think that's a beautiful dress. Just because it's a courthouse wedding doesn't mean you can't look like a bride.

We don't do courthouses, but we do officiate for plenty of tiny groups in parks, at home, in historic sites, and i think this is perfect for any of them.

That's gorgeous and from what I've always heard it doesn't matter...I've seen brides in full princess style dress (big poofy ones) going into courthouses for a wedding. It's whatever makes you feel comfortable but I think the dress you pictured would be perfect

That dress is beautiful! Wear what you want and will be comfortable walking into a court house in. My friend wore a pink dress and she looked lovely. I also know of someone who wore a white dress and a veil. Modcloth has a lot of great options and if you wait for sales they are at a really great price.

That's dress is gorgeous! You can wear what you want. If you have a small reception then you can wear it to that as well.

That would be perfect! Wear what you feel comfortable in. You're just as much a bride, so there's no reason to shy away from a lovely gown! Smiley smile

I would wear whatever you want, and like. It's your wedding rather it's at a courthouse or on the beach. Where what makes you happy to wear, and what makes you happy to say I Do in!

Whatever you want, but check with the courthouse about dress code. That dress wouldn't even be allowed in the courtroom here because it's sleeveless and too low cut to pass the judge's rules.

Of course, you could just hire an officiant and do like Celia said: have the wedding somewhere as a tiny gathering. Parks would be free, and I'm sure there are lost of other places you could do it free or super cheap, too.

That dress is stunning! In my mind, completely appropriate for a courthouse wedding, but mna makes a very good point. Make sure to check what the courthouse dress code is. It would be awful to show up in your beautiful dress and not be allowed in with it!

Oh, and when you get a chance, please change your avatar (profile picture). Right now we're just seeing the default double rings picture, and that makes it hard for us to tell you apart from everyone else and start getting to know you. You can choose a picture of yourself or just about anything that you like...it's up to you! I'm posting instructions below, but if you have any trouble, just email a picture to community@weddingwire.com, and we'll be happy to update it for you!

I agree with Heather. There isn't an appropriate dress for a courthouse wedding. I actually wore a simple dress and I have seen women wear gown because they opted to have only a courthouse wedding. Wear whatever makes You happy. You'll only get married once! Good luck!

My coworker and his wife had a courthouse wedding and she wore a beautiful wedding dress complete with a bouquet. Just because its at a courthouse doesn't mean its not special or you cant wear a gown.

Lovely dresses! I also adore tea-length dresses for courthouse and daytime weddings.
