Hi all Smiley smile

FH and I are going on our first round of venue tours tomorrow. I'm really excited and nervous. I don't know what the dress code is for situations like this and I was wondering if you all could shed some light. Also, have you noticed if the people in charge of giving us a tour/booking the venue (not sure what the proper terminology is yet, I've been engaged for two weeks lol) judge you based on what you wear? I want to make the best impression without accidentally overdressing.

Thanks in advance!

I wore a dark pair of jeans, wedges and a blouse. Hubby was in jeans and a button down shirt.

I just wore a casual dress. They shouldn't judge you based on what you are wearing.

You're over-thinking it haha. Just wear whatever you would wear to run errands.

This didn't even cross my mind when looking at venues. I wore whatever I wore to work that day I think...

I wore jeans and a nice top or a dress. Comfy shoes as well.

I did all of my tours after work so I wore whatever I had on that day (jeans, blouse, sneakers) and by 5:30 I'm usually a greaseball so a once over with a makeup cloth and done.

My wedding venue is at a lodge right next to a hiking trail, so I wore black workout leggings, a nice jacket, and clean tennis shoes since we hiked the trail right after the tour. The owner was wearing work jeans and a t shirt since he was cleaning up after a wedding (it was monday), so it was super casual.

I wore running shorts and a tshirt with no shame. I have to wear jeans and a polo shirt to work so when I'm off, I refuse to wear "real clothes"

Wear whatever you want! Nobody is going to judge you based on your outfit. I don't know what kind of venues you're touring, but maybe shoes that are comfortable to walk in/ can walk on grass?

I wore my everyday clothing. I think you should be more worried about if you actually like the venue and booking it versus what you are wearing.

I wore jeans and a plain shirt. FH wore jeans and a tshirt. It's not that big of a deal.

I wore casual dresses each time. I wanted to look nice because it felt important, but I'm also not one to go out in sweats anyway.

I just wore shorts and a nice top. I hate to have to dress nice when it's 95+ outside. Eww

I had to think back--it was warm out so I was wearing capri style jeans, nice summer top and my burgundy suede skate shoes which I adore and are super comfy! FH was probably wearing skinny jeans (says he'll never give them up even if wide legs come back) and his bright red Hufnagel skate shoes.

Don't worry they won't judge you (thinking you can pay more or less) by what you wear. They want to you to buy and have probably learned very well not to judge a book by its cover.

Back to give some advice on venue hunting: I see you want a Saturday wedding, be sure to ask about the price differences for Saturday, Friday or Sunday weddings, sometimes there's a huge difference.

I thought I was going to have a Saturday wedding and wanted October 1st but my guest list is smaller (60) and couldn't meet the venue's Saturday wedding food & beverage minimum so I went with Friday which was much less money and an F&B minimum I could cover.

Be open to other dates, ask about minimums, check to see if they are inclusive (do they include catering, alcohol, chairs and tables?) make a checklist if you want so you don't forget questions you want to ask.

I would just wear whatever I would normally wear on a Saturday......I'm definitely not the type to care about having a "venue touring outfit". I can't be bothered to worry about that level of detail.
