What to do with extra/left over supplies from my wedding

Tara, on August 14, 2013 at 9:02 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Ok so my one year anniversary is sunday and I was sitting here thinking about all the extra favors and supplies, pew accents, programs, cards...everything wedding and I want to toss it. I hv access aisle runner that I'm giving away to another bride. I saved one program and a few keepssakes and my handy dandy planning notebook in a pretty box given to me but us ut bad to toss everything else? I hv no other reason to save the stuff and it's all taking up space. wanted to know what other brides did...also is there something creative I can do with all the cards like cut them and make abstract art with them?...

Some people do a two or three whole punch in the cards and make a binder keep sake out of them. Other things could be sold on tradesey or some other resale websites. I think one is recycle bride, or something? Best to just google it, haha. Good luck!

You can always ask around here, if anyone needs anything.

I plan on doing a wedding card binder. I saw it on Pinterest and it condenses them all and makes it easy to hold on to.

    Check out this link: http://www.dooleynotedblog.com/2012/08/09/wedding-card-binder/

The link is different than what I saw on Pinterest but I can't get on Pinterest right now to find the one I liked but you can always search it.

If it is something re-usable you can always sell or donate items to other brides to be... other stuff (maybe with your names on them) I would say throw out except for your keepsake items

I'd say you can definitely toss things like programs and cards if you dont want them, its not like other brides can recycle those anyways. Favors and runners and stuff you should just see if anybody here wants to use them, there's always threads about brides who can't afford this and that, it might be a nice gesture there?

What do your pew accents look like and how many do you have?

Anything that was reusable I either sold or gave away to other brides.

All our cards are in my cardbox which is in our office. I don't know if I'll ever do anything with them like make them into a little book or eventually throw them out. As for now, our cardbox is relatively small so they are out of the way.

Leftover programs and such got thrown out. My MOH framed one of my invites for me.

Can't think of anything else that we still have from the wedding that I may have kept.

Just keep in mind if you choose to sell any of your reusable items, selling items here on the forums is not allowed. There are tons of other wedding classifieds elsewhere though that you can post them instead.

However "paying it forward"/giving away items is allowed here on the forums.

I know some people have sold it and what not. My god mother is starting her own catering buisness so she's buying all the chair sashes, table cloths, runners, centerpieces, lights, plates, forks (never used), cake stand, etc from me. Good way to make my money back =)

Thanks everyone for your resonses. You guys are awesome! I think I will do the card binder idea and frame an invite. I can't realky resell anything b/c a lot is personalized. Maybe I will just give away the pew accents since they can be reused and toss the other stuff. Thanks again everyone. I appreciate it!

Tara - I saw somewhere ... but I can't remember exactly where ... but sometimes the venues/church/ceremony site will see if any of the other brides getting married are interested in either buying or reusing your decorations. I know I asked my venue cooridinator if the bride getting married on the day after my wedding wanted to split decorations for the gazebo - either she does them or i do and we go 50/50 - no answer yet but it's worth a shot.
