Both of my sister's wedding flowers are dried and in vases. I'm not sure what I want to do with mine yet... I like the Shadow box idea, but knowing me I'll drop it and they flowers will shatter.

When I was planning on using real flowers, the plan was to take them and root them in a pot, so that FH and I could use them as landscaping (I was going for all roses, red and white) around our house, and it was something that would always be there.

If you're using flowers that are something you'd like as landscaping, or would like to grow as houseplants (if they work as houseplants, that is) you could always root the stems using rooting hormone powder. Smiley smile Then they won't really die! Smiley laugh

EDIT: The rooting powder is really cheap (like $6/bottle that will last FOREVER!) and easy to get. I got mine at the local Ace Hardware store, but I'm sure Lowe's and Home Depot probably sell it too.

My sister did the shadow box, came out very nice, but don't just dry it out, you take it ot he company right away, so it maintains shape and color, they do some sort of process to it..

I kind of think the whole point of fresh flowers is that they're really beautiful AND THEN THEY DIE so I think it's sort of silly to try to "preserve" them in shadow boxes and the like. Plus what happens when you move? When your kid/ niece knocks over the vase? One thing that never occurred to me was rotting them and starting houseplants. I think that's a beautiful idea, only because who doesn't need houseplants?

I am going to use a company called Timeless Moments to freeze dry mine. They can either make a shadowbox of the bouquet or turn them into jewelry. I'm going with the jewelry option! I love the idea of being able to wear my bouquet forever!

I dried pieces to put in an ornament for our tree and in the shadow box I'm making with many items from the wedding. Other than that, I loved it for as long as it was alive and shed a tear when I had to let it go.... :-(

I just remembered mine is hanging upside down in the den waiting for me to put pieces in a clear ornament..... right next to my BM bouquet from May 2012.

My plan is to put all of the flowers from the wedding on each of our grandparents grave stone.

My granny suggested donating the flowers to a local hospital the next day. I suppose that is more general flowers and not the bouquets, but I love her idea and will definitely do it!!
