What to do after a 11am wedding?

Kelly, on December 27, 2015 at 2:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

So we are not complete party animals but we want to make our day full of memories. Our ceremony is at 11am and our reception ends at 4pm. Any ideas of what to do after? Not to much money since by then it will be almost $20k spent. Thanks for the help. We are going to be in Camarillo California.

Are you going on a honeymoon right away? You could get a B&B for the night and just relax. You'll probably be very tired from the days festivities and all the stress leading up to the wedding!

I am sort of doing the same thing, wedding at 10 short breakfast reception ends about noon but my wedding is in Vegas, should be plenty to do and also we have a suite so we were thinking of inviting people up there afterwards.

Are you talking about an after party? Our reception also ends at 4 pm, and I plan on saying goodbye to everyone and escaping to the hotel room with FH. We'll be exhausted by then anyway. With an early wedding, you'll be starting hair and makeup super early in the morning (something I didn't realize when we decided on a brunch wedding).

Our ceremony is at 12:30 and reception ends at 6. We are planning on taking a few hours to ourselves and then drinking and roasting marshmallows with our close friends and bp by the fire pit at the hotel. We are providing the marshmallows only. It will be a small after party.

Can I ask what you're doing at your reception? I'm having a morning wedding too.

After 4 I think we'll take a nap! Or maybe go on a hike (wedding is at a campground). Then everyone who is staying at the campground will eat at the dining hall and then we'll do a campfire and Smores

Thanks for the ideas. We are leaving on our honeymoon on Monday, not sure where we are gong yet. I like the idea of something small and simple like a few appetizers and samores at the hotel. Keep the ideas coming.

My friend had an 11-4 wedding, then invited some people back to her MIL's house for swimming and pizza. I didn't go, but I heard from those that did that few showed up since everyone was exhausted from drinking all afternoon. One of my friends said they wound up napping there.

The very first wedding I went to was a morning-ish wedding. They had the ceremony and then a reception directly after. Then everyone sort of took a break, then they had a no-kids dance later in the evening.
