What should go on a wedding registry?

Soon, on May 13, 2021 at 12:08 AM Posted in Registry 0 8
We just moved into our first home 3 years ago. We pretty much have everything we need. What should go on a registry? I mean, a baby registry is easy but a newly wed that have lived together for 5 years now living in our home for 3. I have no clue where to start.qe are about to start a roofing project is that inappropriate to ask for help with? What are the rules I hate asking for stuff especially when we already have it.

Bedbathandbeyond.com has a registry checklist to get started. Upgrade household items, get matching items. Get something fun you want. Get something related to your shared interests.

My husband and I lived together for almost three years before we got married so for our registry we registered for items that needed to be upgraded or items we wanted, but didn't want to buy ourselves. For example, we asked for new bathroom items since out bath mats, shower curtain and hand soap pump weren't the newest. We also asked for a set of dishes since the dishes we had didn't match.

I’ve seen people who live together mention updating items, like vacuum or bed sheets. What about holiday decorations? I’ve seen people do a honeymoon fund or date night fund through certain apps.

Home improvement things would be great! We've been in our house for 3 years too but still often need things like a ladder, or paint roller extensions, or an edger for the grass by the sidewalk - stuff like that! Also, i always think it's nice to upgrade sheets/towels/kitchen towel and dishrags. New couch pillows, or a pretty throw blanket or wall hanging - things you might really enjoy but not so important that you'd run out and buy yourself just because. Registries like Zola or MyRegsitry allow you to add things from literally any store into one space, that might be a great option for you.

IMO - honeymoon or cash funds are silly becuase they take a percentage of your money. If you have a small registry or no registry people know to give you cash.

Add anything you may want to upgrade like serving dishes and flat wear. We ran into the same problem. Our registry is a lot of upgrades, luggage, and newer decor.

My FH & I have been living together for a while and like others have said, we are updating things we wouldn’t want to buy ourselves like a nice knife block and a pot/pan set. We are also adding items for trips, like luggage and a cooler as well as fun things to have at home while we entertain guests - corn hole set, outdoor speaker, bar equipment. Zola has a checklist you can go through so you don’t forget any items 😊
