With cyber Monday on the horizon, many of us are looking for those great tech deals! Is anyone looking for something specifically for their wedding? More than ever, technology is being used in weddings- hi tech video, personalized gifs, live streaming for family/friends who cannot attend, virtual tours of venues, Light/fireworks displays, confetti and flower cannons, photo booths.... The possibilities are endless! What role will technology play in your big day?!

Hahaha! I’ve never been to a wedding that has utilized one before, but I have seen them on TV and they looked pretty magical! I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t have considered this option if our venue would have allowed them LOL
Besides the obvious of photography and videography, we will be live streaming for guests who could not attend. We will be doing a photo guestbook and streaming images on the television in the reception room. We will also have a personally designed Snapchat filter for our event.
Covid wedding so we’re live-streaming the ceremony. I got a tripod from my dad, but bought a small microphone since our ceremony will be outside. We also didn’t see the point of getting a DJ for 17 guests and no dancing allowed so I bought a little portable speaker to play the ceremony songs and music during the reception. Also using a Polaroid camera for our guest book!

This pandemic is beyond unfortunate, but at least we can look on the bright side and say that technology will allow us to share our wedding day real-time with family and friends who couldn’t make it. I love a photo guestbook! The traditional signature books hold no appeal for me. I just couldn’t see myself pulling out a book to look at everyone’s signatures LOL Candid photos though, I would definitely look at & enjoy again & again!

Yes exactly! I have a lot of family members coming from out of the country that weren’t planning on being there, and post covid I would have never even thought about live streaming for them! I think it’s such a great option that people should keep using post covid for any guest that can’t make it. And I feel the same about photo guestbook, they just seem so much more fun and I enjoy pictures a lot more than signatures.

Like you, I had never considered live-streaming, but given the current circumstances, we have hired a professional to handle that part and it’s the best decision I could have made. (I don’t trust that me and my family would do it right. Lol!). People are really excited that they will still get to share in our special day - even if by computer or TV.
How does the photo guestbook work? I’m looking for ideas for my guestbook for those 24 people that will attend my wedding. Thanks!
I had a friend live stream our ceremony because of COVID. He used his nice fancy iPhone and used a gimbal so the movements of the camera were more seamless looking. Then for our reception music, our venue had a portable speaker that we could use, so I just played a Spotify playlist for the rest of the night. It all worked out really well! That's about all the tech we used besides photography and videography having a drone, haha.
My wedding was pre-pandemic and we definitely had to consider tech because we didn't have a sound system for ceremony OR reception. for ceremony our groomsman had his so we borrowed it but for the reception we looked into renting it but it was weirdly more cost effective to hire a DJ with his own. so we just ended up doing that
We obviously had photography and videography. But outside of that, we had a photo booth. I was married pre Covid, so I did not have to live stream. I think that is pretty much it. We did have a DJ with all of his fancy equipment, but that was all him and luckily I did not have to stress with it!

Smart for hiring the professional! My DOC said she’ll help with that. My parents actually are giving the link to family friends that we couldn’t originally invite and they’re all super excited about it! So what I’m doing for the guestbook is that I’ll have a Polaroid camera and some extra film set up on a table. Basically people will take pictures of themselves/ask someone to take pictures (I might have the DOC help) and put the printed Polaroids in a guestbook. I bought some stickers so they can tape the Polaroids to the guest book and then write a message under their picture! I also bought a sanitizer spray so they can spray the camera before/after every use because Covid!
It's the norm for us. We will have a DJ, photo/video and a photo booth which I'm extremely excited about because it's a mirror. It'll look similar to this one, I think.
At our big wedding technology will be a huge part lol. We will have a DJ, a photographer, a videographer, as well as an inflatable photo booth which I am very excited for!
So many cool things! I'm not sure if all of them do but some come with little games like pong, tic tac toe, etc. You can customize the "home screen" with a photo as well. I figured it would be easier to show you this tutorial video I found online. The games and custom home screen is not included in the video though just so you know.
We'll be doing a photo guest book with a couple instant cameras! Apart from that, if COVID restrictions are still in place (I really hope not...), we're considering setting up a live stream, but not sure if we'll actually do one or not. Still lots of time before we have to decide lol.
