I have been on here searching for venues since we have right at a year I want to get that venue out of the way within the next 6 months! I found one today and the reviews are great except like 4 out of 80 (lol) but you know still you worry cause you want everything to be perfect. I spoke with the lady just now and she's soooo sweet. She said she's my very own wedding planner and they include SO much literally everything down to cakes, bar, food, grooms cake, appetizer platters, etc. $11,000!!! That's an AWESOME deal! I'm getting excited but I'm trying to be calm at the same time...is that doable?

Our venue was something we decided on the day after we got engaged! To us its not like a "venue" its one of our favorite hangouts downtown, and the reception halls are on the upper floors. That place is really special to us so thats why we choose it. Plus it being a brewery, and us being beer drinkers, that helped too Smiley smile

I fell in love with our venue as it was being built. On the way home from work we would pass by it for months and I have always loved the location. It overlooks the lake and is perfect for a sunset wedding.

Our venue was close to the church we wanted, it was in our budget, it was the feel we wanted (classy but very welcoming), the banquet manager has been very accomodating, and they're building a hotel next door that guest can stay in. It just felt right on the day we visited venues!

We picked our venue based on the fact that it is located near (within 30 miles) of 90% of the people invited to the wedding.

I had attended a wedding there before and had a blast - food was good, atmosphere was perfect & to top it off the hotel was only 5 miles down the road.

Our final decision was made when my FH saw that they offer an ice cream sundae bar - yes, that is what we based our final decision on ...

And I really liked the fact that we could get married overlooking the water and then have our reception inside w/ a deck overlooking the water. Amazing views

FH and I originally looked at our venue because we loved the food at the restaurant there, an then after going and seeing everything and the price, we couldn't say no!

This is such a great thread! :-D I'm finally getting excited to go look at venues, and it's all because of you ladies! Only one week and five days until we fly to look at our venues! Ahh! :-D (Sorry for the overabundance of smilies.)

It gave us premium food and drinks at a reasonable price. It fit with our theme, and the lady made us feel comfortable.

We wanted to be married outdoors, but my fiance was afraid of melting in August heat, so she wanted indoor/outdoor. One of the other places we looked at didn't have a fully indoor alternative (it was a permanent outdoor tent that seated 200 with a concrete floor, but she was afraid it wouldn't be cool enough).

This place has amazing Catskill views and it's gorgeous. It's family owned and run and the service is very personal and they really know what they're doing. They're very accessible.

My fiance is from Kentucky and we have about half the guests traveling from out of state. Our venue has cabins for guests. It's just an event venue, not a hotel or a restaurant, and that appealed to us; they are really great at EVENTS.

The price was right, and includes food, bar, cake, and a Viennese dessert table. The clincher was they don't charge for overtime and they don't kick you out the minute your event is done!

My aunts country club - Town Point Club, Norfolk, VA

My aunts a member, so we got the date we wanted with no issue

We had been there for father's day brunch and the view was spectacular (over the Elizabeth River)

I didn't want to over-complicate things and make it too hard of a process. I just wanted to get down to the planning and the details.

I wanted a garden wedding in the desert where everything was done for us. FH didn't care, as long as it wasn't going to be 100+ degrees out. I fell in love with Caesar's Palace's Venus Garden the second I saw it and the price. There weren't any other options for me out there. It fits my Italian heritage, it's outdoors, and beautiful.

We knew pretty much once we got engaged that we'd use the country club FH & his dad golf at. The owner of the restaurant portion is good friends with FFIL and we eat there regularly as a family, the venue itself is beautiful (they've got a GORGEOUS waterfall fountain in the back surrounded by flowers for photos). Ultimately we knew working with the venue would be easy, we'd get quality food, and they offer a good amount of things we'd otherwise need additional vendors for (uplighting, chiavari chairs, linens, gobo projection, etc). Also the venue is only 10 min away from my FIL's house, and so they've offered to host the after party for us.

After looking at 7 venues, we knew it was perfect because it was the best value for our money and had everything we were looking for. Outdoor, all inclusive, floor to ceiling windows with a killer view...just perfect.
