What kind of shoes go with an off white dress?

jcyaz, on January 3, 2010 at 1:10 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

Well my wedding is kinda a disaster, I haven't seen my wedding dress because I'm not in my country, but what I know that the place where I'm going to buy the dress has mainly OFF WHITE DRESSES.

I've been looking for shoes on amazon but they are simply white, would that work? or do you think it would be good for Silver-like shoes?

Thank you for your help!

    Don't worry about it too much. Many places will dye shoes to match if you want. I am planning on wearing blue shoes with my ivory dress. Smiley smile

    I'm wearing my favorite pair of slip on wooden sandles as I walk down teh isle/hiking trail though the woods and at the end where I will meet my FH we will have a rug laid out on the ground where we will both slip off our shoes and stand barefoot.

    I happed to like the clear style with silver accents maybe, would go well with off white. Though I have a pair and they are not too comfortable for a long haul so you may want to opt for a second pair of more comfy shoes for the reception. But if your dress is floor length, it really doesn't matter.

    Well you can't just dye any ole shoe. dyeables are made from a specific type of material. what are your wedding colors? lots of people are wearing colored shoes to coordinate with their wedding colors. also any champagne or gold toned shoe would go well with off white. i've also seen lots of ivory shoes.

    Ladylee is right. most dye-able shoes are made from satin.

    I agree with ladylee in the sense that you don't have to stick with white or silver. There are is someone on here, I can't remember who for the life of me, going with hot pink. I'm going to be wearing blue. There is nothing wrong with adding a pop of color under your dress so don't worry to much if your shoes don't match your dress.

    Don't do silver. It's too cold of a color for off-white/ivory. Stick with an ivory color or something with a warm tone. Search ivory on zappos.com... they have the best selection and easiest return policy.

    I'm wearing purple shoes with my ivory dress! I wanted something I'd be likely to wear again, and ivory shoes just wouldn't go with my wardrobe.

    Anybody have any ideas on a brides purse to go with an ivory wedding dress? Obviously don't want anything too big and don't want to spend alot on it either. Does anyone know of any good online wedding shoes sites?

    I've still been looking for a clutch to carry but so far haven't seen THE ONE. for shoes try shoebuy.com, onlineshoes.com, zappos.com All of these have bridal shoes. There's other sites devoted entirely to special occassion shoes. Just google bridal shoes or special occassion shoes.

    Well if you're not sure if your dress will be white, off-white, ivory, diamond/silver, then i'd just wait til you have it.. i know thats kind of like waiting til the last min and it sounds like since you're very close to the big day you'd like to get something done.. less worrying for later.. so in my opinion, LOTS of brides use their shoes for the big day pop of color! I've known many friends to use their shoes as their "something blue" and have ordered really pretty blue flats from www.myspringshoes.com which is a branch of ALDO actually, and they are really affordable and cute! some brides on here have done hot pink or red.. but i def. think silver would be great... do what you want and what you are comfortable with doing Smiley smile best of luck

    I am wearing silver shoes with my off white dress. I would not wear white or ivory because ivory is not the same as off white. Ivory has a yellow tint to it and off white does not. Diamond white is closer to off white than ivory is. Or I say go with a color.

    I think an ivory shoes or a coloured one would be better than a white one. for a great selection of bridal shoes take a look at;
