So those who don't know, I have had issues getting to my dress fitting, then finally making it but had a horrible dress fitting experience. I originally had my mind set on Mori Lee, then that soon changed to Val Stefani, but now I am in love with Lazarro! The qowns are beautiful and expensive. I am new to this so my budget had to be adjusted a few times in order to get the dress that I want. I now have a budget of $3000...Is that crazy?

I say have a limit on your dress budget, but shop around! I watch "say yes to the dress " all the time and have you noticed that when you say what your budget is, they only pull dresses that cost within a few hundred dollars(usually over). Shop with an open mind, let them know you are looking for a deal and don't try anything on that's over your budget. I found my ideal dress at a Bridal Consignment shop ( went there first) but it was $800 and I hated the back so it would need a redesign. I went to a Bridal store and they had the same exact style with a simple back for a third of the price and brand new! Sold!! I wanted a beautiful dress but I also wanted to spend a reasonable amount. Alterations are done and the dress looks amazing, I went where the bridal shop recommended and they only cost $115!!!

Phew, good thing we don't need a consent from WW when we're deciding on how to spend our money.

Otherwise, brides who spent $$$ on their stationary would be crucified now. And yes, there have been a few who spent more than $3,000 on paper.

My budget is $1500 - at first it was $1000 but since my mom said they would pay for the dress I figured I could go up a little bit more but I'm mainly into Maggie/Casablanca so they are perfect for my budget

My parents paid for my dress and didn't really give me a budget. My dress ended up being about $2000, my dad ended up saying he was excited that I didn't spend as much as he thought I would... I guess it was a win win for everyone!

Mrs S, you didn't get the memo about that? There's a sign-in sheet up by the forums tab. You're supposed to run all major purchases and life decisions by the committee for prior authorization. Smiley smile

I am trying to stay under $1500 for everything- alterations, dress and accessories. I haven't shopped yet but I have seen many that caught my eye that are under that. Budget for a dress is relative- everyone is going to think something different. However, I do think there is a line- I watched Say Yes to the Dress yesterday where the girl bought a $26,000 dress. I saw a version of it at DB for $1500... I'm a fashion designer and I know that dress was not worth $26000!

My budget forv a dress was $700. FH gave me a $1000, so then my budget became $1700. However I fell in love with a dress that cost $599.

My budget was $1500 not including alterations. I ended up with a dress for 499.00 from DB which I loved way more then the $1200 dress I thought I wanted.

Budget was $5,000 but ended up spending $8,500 (not including chicago's ridiculous sales tax). My dad started crying when I put the dress on so I knew it was a winner. My wedding is over a year away and I don't think I'll be having any regrets/buyer's remorse.

My dress budget was $2500 and I came in under. I don't think its right to judge someone on how much they spend on their dress. Who cares? Smiley smile

My budget for my dress was no more than 600, the woman at the bridal shop didn't check price tags when pulling dresses. I fell in love (there were tears) with a dress. I then realized it was 1000. I got the dress.

The great thing about being a workaholic and working crazy OT 6 days a week is the ability to pay for your own wedding and make decisions as to what you want to spend your money on. Although I am on a budget (because I choose to make financially wise decisions) does not mean that my wedding will suffer any more or less with increasing my dress budget. I've made an appointment to go to Kleinfield. I am more convinced than ever that I need to have this specific Lazaro dress in my life. The thoughts of this dress is haunting me! I haven't felt like this since I received my ring. I have a great feeling about this.
