I currently don't have a backup plan, except that I just ordered 4 clear bubble umbrellas.....I'm seriously going to cry if it rains all day and I can't get any pictures outside Smiley sad

Just to clarify...our ceremony & reception are indoors, I just want pictures outside.

Well I live in Arizona and it rains .0001% of the time so I'm not worried.

I got married last Saturday and it rained all day even though it was sunny the day before and day after. We moved our reception in doors and bought 50 umbrellas at IKEA for 3 dollars each. No one complained about being outside for 30 min. The rain didn't show up on the weather report until 2 days before

My back up plan is HUGE umbrellas and cute rain boots.

My backup plan for rain involves Xanax and tequila. We're having a destination wedding in Mexico. I'll be heartbroken. But if it rains there are indoor options so I'll slam a shot or two, suck it up and go for it!

I'm hoping it doesn't snow for mine. Usually in March we don't have snow, but this past March we did. I'm in Chicago, so it is quite possible. Flurries wouldn't be bad, but 3-4 inches and people might decide to stay home.

We'll move our ceremony inside to either a room in the country club or in the foyer area. It will be sad because I won't be able to come down my princess stairs, but both other areas are nice. But I am also in California, so I'm not going to stress too much about it.

Well we are not getting married out doors but our reception is supposed to be outside in the courtyard so...our plan is to have it inside the sanctuary (they call it a sanctuary but it's in a castle). Either way is very nice.

Oh and I will keep my fingers crossed for you, I have seen it raining literally minutes before the bride walks down the aisle and lo and behold sunshine, so cheer up Smiley smile

We don't have room for a plan B or budget for a tent. But, we're country and "Rain is a GOOD thang"!!!

If it rains, seriously, we will rush the ceremony, and haul butt inside to start everything early!!! I am going to scou the weather, and but a FEW umbrellas. But that's about all I can afford, lol!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about what weather.com says. I'm getting married on Saturday, and I have been watching weather.com for the past month. At one point it was sunny, then there were thunder storms, and then it was just rain, and now it's sunny again. Just last night I checked the hourly forecast and it said 50% chance of rain at 3:00, and now, just hours later, it says 20% chance of rain.

It's good to have a back-up plan, but I really wouldn't worry about what it says too much yet.

I don't have one...but everything is indoors...including 3/4 of the pictures. So it'll just be going around to the different places.

My ceremony is not outdoors, so I'm not worried for that luckily, but I really do want to take pictures outside with all the fall foliage. So I'm really hoping that it doesn't rain day of... as well as very much in the weeks leading up to the wedding!!! Last year, I was so sad because the week before our engagement shoot we had huge rains and many of the leaves fell down. The good thing was that our photographers was awesome and were able to really bring out the color and emphasize the leaves that were still left.

Nothing to do but sit back and see what happens...

My co-worker suggested I check farmers almanac. I live in Florida and lo and behold it calls for a hurricane!

Our ceremony & cocktail hour is planned to be outside. The venue does have an indoor option that's nice as well. Weather report is showing 20% chance for rain tomorrow but I'm praying it holds off until late evening. If I can't get my pictures, I'm planning on going back and doing a "rock the dress" photo shoot.

The weather is the one thing you have zero control over, ever. So, you might as well just deal with whatever comes your way. How does one plan an outdoor wedding and NOT have a contingency plan in place?

That said, I'm actually hoping for snow on mine. It will make for gorgeous pictures (11/30/13).

No backup plan. Getting Married in the chapel at the venue then there is a short walk over to the reception hall outside.

In case of rain, I did order a dozen 48" blue and white golf umbrellas, so people could use them if need for walking to the hall. I will also gift one to each of the bridal party and some family at the end. They were not expensive under $60 on ebay.

I'd check with your venue and they might possibly have a back up for rain. Maybe they have a tent to cover. It might not be the best but if you absolutely want pictures outside, it'd be your only option. Unless of course, depending on where you're getting married, you can see about coming back another day to photograph pictures? The only downfall is that it'd be hard to replicate everything.

We're picking a venue that will let us do everything inside, including pictures, just in case. We're getting married in November in New England. So, if we DON'T plan for rain/snow/horrible weather, it'll be terrible. If we DO plan for it, it'll be nice out and we'll get pictures outside anyway.
