What is the BIGGEST waste of money in your opinion for a wedding ?

My chiavari chairs were pretty comfortable. And compared to the weird white folding chairs, it was so worth it.

I agree with everything that's been brought up: STDs, programs, favors, bridal proposal boxes, signs, photo booths. The list goes on and on.

The bottom line is spend your money on what you think is important WITHOUT breaking the bank or having to do a dollar dance, honeymoon fund, cash bar, etc.. Properly host your guests and everyone will have a great time at your wedding.

I saw a couple that bought 20 board games as centerpieces/activities during the wedding. Nobody played Scrabble, Life, or checkers during dinner. The couple wasn't huge into board games, either, so I think the hall threw them away.

I'm going to add in groom's cakes unless it's intended to be served. The previously mentioned couple had a five tier cake AND a replica of their alma mater's football stadium made out of cake, the football stadium cake was not allowed to be cut even though it served a good 200 people on its own.

This has been very informative. I was really excited to have shot glass favors with our names and date printed. Sounds like no one would miss them. Lol

The whole thing in my opinion. First the cake, it's a friggin cake, there is no cake in the world that is worth more that 100.00 and that is even steep. Second, who is going to remember your $$$ wedding 20 years from now? No one, only you and really you think it will be the best day of your life? No sorry, it will not be. Weddings are the biggest rip off ever. Save your money, go on a nice honeymoon or put the money towards your first home. Skip the wedding and be smart.
