What if I don't like my wedding dress?!

Karen, on July 26, 2016 at 9:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Long story short, I have my dress but I don't like it. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful dress and I look great in it. I just don't feel comfortable in it and I hate to keep altering it in hopes it will be better. What's the point of doing all these alterations if it's the style that's the problem?! I hate to be a pain and have to get a new dress (especially when I have no idea where to start to sell this one) but I'm just not happy! I have cried twice in the last 3 days because I'm not happy with it! Help?!

I'm sorry that you have to go through this but it is so important that you're comfortable on your big day. Take a deep breath and post the dress on Facebook pages (yard sale pages, WW Bride-2-Bride page, local wedding resale pages), Craigslist, and yard sale apps (Letgo, 5miles, etc). Then start shopping and find something that you feel amazing in. I wish you the best of luck!

There are so many places that you can try to sell the dress. Ask the store you bought it if they have any suggestions for selling the dress. Good luck

This happened to me! I bought a new dress and I will worry about selling the other dress after the wedding and honeymoon. Good luck!

If you don't like your dress, yes you should get one that you are head over heels in love with! I hope that you get back what you loose on your current dress. Good Luck

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. It sounds like it's a little more than the normal dress regret. If you really don't like it and can afford to buy a new one, you should go shopping again. You still have plenty of time to get a new dress.

Can you post a photo? What is it you don't like about it?

If you can afford it, then go out and look for another one. It sounds like nothing you do to it will make you love it again unfortunately. But I'm with PP's, can we see a picture of it??

This is what it's supposed to look like. I don't have a good picture of me in it (shaky camera person lol). The dress is gorgeous but I don't like the flare at the bottom. Everyone kept telling me to take it out and it'll be better... Well we altered part of it but, if we actually took out the under part it'll look funny... Since it's meant to look like that. It's my exact size now so I can't gain or lose any weight... I keep trying to talk myself into loving the dress but it just isn't working

Beautiful dress. 5miles has an entire wedding category on its marketplace, so you may want to check that out: 5milesapp.com/a/wedding. Happy nuptials!

I felt the same way about my first dress. If it's bothering you this much, I say sell or consign it and start fresh. You have plenty of time and your idea of the perfect wedding dress may change over time... mine certainly did! It's a gorgeous gown, but if you don't love it you don't love it. Do some thinking and decide what silhouette you want since I think that's the main issue here. But you shouldn't have to feel stuck with a dress you don't like when you have plenty of time to change it (:
