What has Wedding Planning taught you?

on December 18, 2019 at 10:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
Wedding planning has taught me and help me realize that:

I am a very indecisive person
I am very pickyI like to be in chargeI like to put everyone before meI care too much about other people’s opinionnot everyone I call my friend is really my friend Not everyone would go the extra mile for meI need to expect nothing from people I am very organized, meticulousI get stressed out easilyPeople will surprise me and disappoint me

What have you learned about yourself/relationships in this process??

Wedding planning emphasized even more how silly our first world problems are. A tough decision might be roses or carnations, but there are those who have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

It helped me realize that everyone isnt as happy for you as they say and that its not about anyone else besides you and your significant other.

To plan and keep ideas to myself no one is excited about my planning to wants to hear me talk about it although I’m positive they are happy for me! I’ve learned that my wedding should be a representation of my personality & what I like! I learned it’s my wedding why the hell I keep asking people “what do you think” after telling them my idea! Lol! It’s a lot I’ve learned but those things really taught me to just basically do me!! Lol.

Planning really emphasized how I'm a planner and DH is NOT.

How much I find a lot of the wedding industrial complex to be... profoundly boring to me.

That my mother is exactly who I think she is, which is not a good thing.

That my family would do what I was afraid they would do, which is also not a good thing.

That my dad, however, is exactly who I think he is, and that's a great thing.

That my MIL is awesome. (But my SIL needs to grow up.)

That DH and I REALLY have this sickness thing down, could we have some health, please?

I'm old enough that most of the planning process didn't reveal anything about my own personality that I didn't know (I'm stubborn, I'm decisive, and I'm not particularly inclined to deal with nonsense). But it did teach me a lot about people around me.

I’ve learned the same lessons as many of you! I’ve also learned that I LOVE the planning and I’m so happy/excited!! I already KNOW it’s gonna be a fabulous, magical day no matter what, because I’m marrying my love. No one could possibly be more excited than me!! (Maybe him lol)
