Hi guys. My day is getting closer. LOL. And the closer it gets the more I think about every little thing and second guess myself. I am sort of worried I will not have enough food. I watch 4 wedding religiously and some brides have so much food it seems wasteful and others seem like they have 5 items...

Hi guys. My day is getting closer. LOL. And the closer it gets the more I think about every little thing and second guess myself. I am sort of worried I will not have enough food. I watch 4 wedding religiously and some brides have so much food it seems wasteful and others seem like they have 5 items on the buffet and the cake and that is it. What all are you doing? I am having a 5 hour ceremony all in the same place. Thank you =)

I'm a foodie so I don't think there can ever be too much food lol.
We're having 10 passed appetizers, a fruit/cheese/veggie table, 4 course meal, and cake for dessert.
We're also having a full open bar so I want to make sure my guests are not hungry.

I wouldn’t base it off the shows, I think behind they scenes they add for drama and pomp.

We’re having a small 30 person wedding and not skimping on food!! But our caterer said any leftovers we can take home too. I wrote our menu (chef for a living) to reflect a locally flavored summer bbq/grill. Passed appetizers (4) of pork sliders, snake sausage, steak s’mores and corn cakes with salsa. Mixed fruit and artisan cheese display. Buffet with salad, 2 sides, 2 breads, a steak, vegetarian pasta and fish option. Dessert is wedding cake, grooms cake and assorted whoopie pies - with late night gelato bar and grilled peaches. Open bar all night and our cocktail to end of reception will be 4.5 hours.

    No problem!

Our venue is all inclusive and to me, yes it's quite expensive; but I think it's going to be all worth it. When you look at the cost it seems high, but we're getting a lot. We're paying $120pp excluding tax and gratuity.

Catering is in-house and the food is amazing! With that, we didn't have to stick to their menu offerings. We were able to customize our menu, suggest how we want everything cooked/seasoned, or even provide a family recipe if we wanted to. We added mac and cheese balls to our appetizers because my fiance and I really like them from The Cheesecake Factory. We showed our coordinator a photo of them and he said ok, we'll do our best to get them to look just like that! I was so happy lol.

Open bar for the entire reception, chairs, uplighting, and drapery for our sweetheart table is included (it's on a riser surrounded by 4 columns), no extra fees. They'll set up everything for us; we don't have to lift a finger. We could have gone through their contracted vendors for our cake and florist. We did not so we'll be receiving a credit.

We invited a little over 200 guests; max capacity is 230 and the minimum is 120. We're at 115 confirmed right now (120 including our vendors) and are still waiting for 65 to come back.

The chicken, veggies and roasted potatoes will be what my FH eats and anyone else who wants some. The lasagna won't be gluten free.

Before dinner we will only have light bar snacks like roasted nuts and pretzels. We're getting a Mongolian BBQ place to bring and cook on site so everyone gets to pick what they want in their dish and portion themselves I'm certain everyone will be satisfied. We also have a coffee hour with cookies and cupcakes after.

Our venue includes an insane amount of food. We are having 20 passed hors d'oeuvres, two app stations, salad and entree (choice of filet, crab cake or chicken francaise) , and then cake and a few other desserts. Its going to be excessive lol but it was all included in our price per person.

Whoopie pies are amazing! It’s a Pennsylvania Amish thing, cake with a fluffy cream filling, so like a cupcake but more handheld. Our baker is making 3 flavors - traditional choc and vanilla, jalopeno and shoofly.

I am probably having too much food as well but its better to have too much than too little.

For cocktail hour we have chips, salsa, dip, fruits, and vegetables alongside fried ravioli, bacon wrapper tater tots, meatballs, beef on skewers, and friend mac and cheese balls for passed hors d'oeuvres.

Then for dinner there is a Caesar salad to start. Then a buffet with 3 stations, pasta w/ alfredo or Marinara sauce, bbq chicken, or flank steak with carrots or potatoes as sides.

For dessert there are cupcakes but also a tea and coffee station.

Also a 5 hour open bar.

100-112 pp so definitely not cheap but way less than I thought we were going to have to spend for all that food. I definitely relate to the anxiety setting in regarding all the little details though. I'm sure everything is going to be perfect!

Thank you and I needed that. My honey was like "If you have been planning this for the last 18 months you should have everything planned down to the T by now." Needless to say that turned into a playful wrestling match. LOL. He has ZERO clue of what all goes into a wedding and he could only tell me to have chicken and cake there. Its like...ooook. Thanks babe. LOL
