What does a venue need to approve a Doc?

Hi!! Happy Friday!


In my contract my venue requires a DOC, however it does state it has to be "a hotel approved" DOC. So how would they not approve them?

I am speaking with a DOC today and they are running a special through tomorrow so I want to book them ASAP if I like them, but I'm scared my venue could not approve them. I sent an email to my venue for the requirements they need but I'm worried they wont get back to me in time.

Has anyone had their venue not approve someone? Or what did the venue require for them to approve them?

    My venue required all my vendors be insured so maybe that’s why they have to be approved. Usually venues that have this as a requirement have a list of preferred vendors that they work with regularly. Especially for a DOC, this is probably so some family member isn’t trying to hang decor from the ceiling or telling hotel staff what to do the morning of your wedding.

    Oh okay! Yes my venue requires that as well, all of their preferred vendors are SO expensive though, so I am not using any of them. I can use whoever as long as they are insured. So as long as they are they should have no problem with them, I'm guessing? Thank you!

    Call them. I'm sure different venues have different requirements, but I wouldn't risk them not returning your email in time.
