What does a married woman dress like?

I just got a comment recently that kinda annoyed me. "You know, if your getting married soon, you gotta start dressing like a married woman! No more ripped jeans and skateboard shoes!" Ummm... so what, do I dress like an old lady now? I don't get it. lol. The comment was from my sister, who's not...

Ummm... so what, do I dress like an old lady now? I don't get it. lol. The comment was from my sister, who's not involved in the wedding cuz she's jealous and has done nothing but talk crap behind my back... But anyways, I don't wear ripped jeans anymore, but what's wrong with my DC's!!! Did anyone start dressing more 'grown up' after the wedding? Or do you plan to? Also, I heard something about the wife chop. About how lots of women chop off their hair short after the wedding. Or the mommy chop where they chop it off as soon as they have a baby. lol. Why do people assume a big event means you need to change something about yourself?

OMG, Kelsey, my FH says the SAME THING to me hahaha. Again, didn't have boobs til I got on BC, and now that I'm off, they're STILL bigger. And I don't know how to dress them!!!! LOL! Anyway, I'm not changing how I dress when I'm married. I'm a bit of a comfort cootie (as FH calls me) so I'm a jeans and tshirt kind of girl. That will change as I get older, but at this point, my only worry is being age appropriate lol. When I'm working in an office (I'm a nanny right now) and not going to school anymore, my clothes will adjust. But FH and I are both happy where we are.

I would love to have smaller breasts. It is so hard to buy tops that won't reveal my breasts. Kudos to small breasts gals.

Haha, I hate my breasts, it is 38 d. Even if I lose 10 pounds, my breasts size stay the same.

I'm a 34DD - I've never had the same hate for them that other large busted women have. I just embrace them as part of who I am.

That is good through jess :-) It just I am 4'11 and have a very small body. So it is frustrating to have big breasts when I am tiny lol.

LOL, your fiance loves you because you are YOU! Remind your sister that he will love you for that same reason when you are married Smiley smile

Don't give it a second thought. Your style of dress is influenced by many things. I at 34 will dress differently from a younger bride. I also tend to cover up more than most girls because my curves would show in a burlap bag if you catch my drift. You may find you have less money to keep up with new styles as you start to worry about having a nice house and kids. His placing a ring on your finger doesn't mean you have to give up what you love or turn into frump girl. You still need to let him know you got it and remind him why he fell in love with you in the first place.

Oh I'm def not changing! I mean my style has evolved since I met FH (I was 16 when I met him and I'm now 23) and I'm assuming my style will continue to evolve as I get older but I'm planning on staying me. He loves me for me and would never expect me to change. As for my hair as well....I've had short hair once in my life and it looked terrible on me! I can't get my hair cut short...I love it too much!

I dont think you have to change your appearance just because you are getting married that is crazy talk!!! I'm not changing mine. Your FH loves you just the way you are thats why he asked you to be his wife. I'm sure FH don't think you need to change.

I would say the only change in the way I dress is whenever I go somewhere with him that is work related. When he is in uniform I try to step it up a notch. I'm a pretty basic chick IE: jeans/tank-top/flip-flops, but I hear my gramma's voice in my head if I try to go out in public in ripped/revealing/ill-fitting clothing lol!

Wow i didn't know that cutting your hair after the wedding is a common occurrence. When we first got engaged I stopped cutting my hair (it was a short angled bob) because I really wanted to have long hair for the wedding, but had always planned to cut it short once it was over. I looooved having short hair so much! Its so much easier to manage. Smiley smile I have an appointment this saturday! woo hoo!

Fashion is an expression you should be able to express yourself as long as you are not offending your FH and that's the only opinion that matters. If he loves you like that(at your point of comfort)then that's why he's marrying you, right? So screw your sister's opinion and BE YOURSELF.

Wow, who ever made that rule can't possiable still be married, as for ripped jeans, when he meet me that's what I had on. I love my ripped jeans, and I think that I will be the one to decide if and when I will stop wearing them. I am a person of fashion, and some times I do fashion shows, so that should tell you how I fell about dressing. I think sometimes woman get so caught up in being married that they forget about taking care of themselves, and that's when its to late. All I can say is what attracted him to you is what he wants and if he want a woman looking like she was 55 at 25 then that's what he wants. Also as we get older we know what we can and cannot wear. Have a great day.
