What does a bridal attendant do? Are any of you having one as part of your wedding?

My BM's are some of my closest friends since elementary and middle school. I have one SIL, she and my brother married 10 years ago and have been together for 15. Their daughter will be a Jr. BM. I would love to have her (SIL) involved in one way or another. My aunt suggested she could be a bridal attendant. What does this role involve? are any of you having one in your wedding party? Other suggestions are welcomed.

This is like a "runner up bridesmaid" thing. Don't do this.

She will be working before the wedding to get her daughter ready, so don't make her "attend" to you too. Get her a corsage, have her escorted in during Seating of the Parents/Families if you want... Just don't give her a made up job.

@MrsSki, thank you. I wasn't sure what it even was. I will take you advise on her having a corsage and she can come hangout with all of us when getting ready if she wants to.

Most of our upscale venues have them on staff, which is fine, but I wouldn't appoint a friend to do this.

Honestly, let her be a guest.

@carrie I agree this is the best way to go. I always love just being a guest at weddings. I'm a talked so I like to mingle.

FH has 3 teenage nieces that wanted to be BM's SO bad, but I already has asked his sister, my two sisters, and 2 friends. I made them "Jr. Bridesmaids" / Bridal Attendants and they got special dresses, will help seat family, and get ready with us.

Your situation is different. Get her a corsage and call it a day.
