What do you think of this Buzzfeed overdone wedding list?

Personally I don't care if something is done by a million other brides, on my day the wedding is all about me and my FH and if it makes us happy we are doing it! And that includes a strapless dress, Mason jars and cupcakes instead of a cake! 😛

I think if you're going to enough weddings to know what's "overdone," you're going to too many. A wedding should be for those who actually care about the couple and their relationship, not people who will be grading it as a performance.

I personally don't care about things like this, if that's what my fiancé and I want we will do it lol.

My fiancé and I will be wearing boots, but my girls aren't.

The "required" wedding traditions I find fun! I get not everyone wants to do them, but that's for them to decide for their wedding, not ours.

Sounds like those wedding planners need a new career! Baby's breath is cheap (as are mason jars) and if the planner or florist has other budget friendly ideas then SUGGEST THEM! That's what a professional does! Sitting around moaning nobody does your ideas doesn't do anything and isn't a sign of a professional.
Plus most dresses come strapless nowadays, photobooths are included with the DJ, cupcakes travel easier than a full wedding cake, these ideas are recycled a lot because they work and are the most accessible options! Duh!

According to this, my whole wedding is overdone 🤷🏼‍♀️ I honestly don’t care because it’s what makes me and my FH happy! The day is about your love, not the mason jar centerpieces. Baby’s breath has always been my favorite flower because I would grow it with my grandma, not because Pinterest told me it was my favorite. It’s really up to you and how you want it to look. 😊

I think couples should be able to have their wedding how they want it. People shouldn’t judge because something was done at someone else’s wedding.

Lol i call my dress blush but that's about it. Our wedding is kind of "non-traditional".. Soon that'll be on the list but hey, who care about what you think. Get your check and do as your asked lol

I think It’s interesting some of the things on their because they are classic wedding things. Honestly if they do it then they do it. It’s their wedding and they should be able to do what they want. For example the cha cha slide thing. There are not a ton of group dance songs so obviously it would be played often.

The biggest question being... why does anyone (as a guest) care if someone does something “overdone” at their own wedding? Literally none of these things affect guest experience lol. If you’re going to a wedding, this couple is feeding you, having you participate in a fun party, and involving you in the most special day of their lives. Who gives a sh** if they have mason jars or play Ed Sheehan or call their pink dresses “blush”....?

Sparkler exits will never be overdone in my opinion, we’re having one at sunset for our exit so it won’t even be dark but I think it’s fun. Also our venue won’t allow for confetti or we’d do that. Bubbles are what I think is overdone, I don’t get that trend. But as everyone else as said, each to each is own, every wedding is fun and different and unique. I LOVE naked cakes and that is our two cake styles - semi naked, I compromised - because we HATE frosting but guests like it. We pay wedding planners to see and execute our visions not tell us we’re being too fad or Pinteresty 🤣🤣 Oh buzzfeed..

I couldn't agree with you more. There are only so many ideas out there and if you see something you like why not have it at your wedding? Lol. If they are sick of things it's time to do something they can appreciate. But yea single ladies song is over played..lol

Hmm i had the blush theme, the garter toss/bouquet toss, and I danced to an Ed Sheehan song. Guess my wedding was cringey haha. Oh and mason jars for hydrangea centerpieces. I don’t care, my wedding day turned out amazing!

My problem with some of the things they listed is just that they are everywhere. Trying to find inspiration and decor when you want the exact opposite of what's trendy is hard. Explaining your "theme" to vendors and getting weird looks or trying to be talked into what's popular is what I don't like about the overdone things. I don't care what anyone else does at their wedding, but man, wanting something not blush, rustic, or greenery is a struggle. So, it's the companies and blogs and websites pushing the SAME EXACT designs that is what makes me never want to see them again.

Too bad they don’t like “All of Me” because that’s Our first song! Was the song my son picked for my Grandparents funeral.... soooo it fits FH & I too, and I’m keeping it- photo booth too!

I just read it, and I was so frustrated! I’m of the opinion that wedding planners are paid to pull off their clients dream wedding - not their own! Couples should just do whatever makes them happy, and not have to worry about all the crazy judgement from vendors.

This list is so negative and cringeworthy. I admit that Ive looked into things that I wanted to be "different" from other weddings I have been to but it is literally ALL about the couple you are celebrating. Whatever they decide is a reflection of them and the way they wish to celebrate their special day. Greenery is everywhere and I love it and thats what my FH and I are doing. Its about us and a day we will remember forever.
