What do you love as a guest vs not noticing/caring about?

What makes or breaks a good wedding for you? What have you noticed in the past as a guest that stood out, either in a good or bad way?

    Things I Notice/Love:
    -Good food
-Good music, fun DJ/Emcee, people dancing-Not a long line for the bar-Who I'm sitting with, especially if we don't know a lot of people there-If there's a reasonably priced hotel block and shuttle
Things I Don't Notice/Don't Care About-Centerpeices-Flowers-What the cake looks like-Whether the bridesmaids are matching-Whether there are kids at the wedding

    Breaks:
    1. Anytime I have to pay for something at the wedding and it wasn’t announced prior. I can get over cash bars if I am told before hand. But I still don’t carry cash, and its awkward when they have made your drink and they don’t have a square or similar card reader.

    2. Not enough seating. I’ve been to weddings with full catered meals and barely any seating or tables. It was awkward and uncomfortable.
    3. No bathrooms. Yes it happened. Guests left quickly and some didn’t even come back.
Makes: I don’t really have a lot of makes as a guest (most weddings are pretty cookie cutter as far as guests). adaquate seating, appropriate ceremony space for the weather, and enough food to much on and I’m good.

Good: decent food, good DJ, short ceremony
Bad: boring DJ or not DJ at all (guests left right after dinner at that one), at the same wedding they did the reception and ceremony in same room so they had to quickly set up tables except that guests were setting up tables! I was in a dress and heals I wasn’t going to roll tables and set them up! Also, I don’t like open seating unless it’s all long rectangular tables. I also once went to a wedding where the pastries were moldy

Things I love and notice first
    1. Food. I love when I go to one of those weddings where they not only have great food but a large variety. I went to a wedding where there was a regular buffet, then they brought out pizza and wings a little later. There was the cake and then they had brownies, cookies etc.
    2. Good music. 3. Fun, easy going, relaxed atmosphere
Things I don't like or notice1. I don't really notice decorations, I only started to when I got engaged to get ideas 2. Paying for anything. If I go to a hosted event like a wedding I expect not to have to bring my wallet. I will take the money out of the card I was going to give you and use it to buy drinks for myself. 3. Uptight atmosphere. 4. Misbehaviored children, now I love kids they can add a cuteness factor to the wedding and I obviously know kids will be kids. But when I take time off from work and go to one of these events and there is some kid throwing a temper tantrum or just running around terrorizing the guests and the parents aren't doing anything about it. It can be very annoying.

Love: open bar and appetizers since I’m a snacked and pretty picky drinker. A good dj with a variety of music.
Dislike: long waits or long travel between ceremony and reception, too many or long speeches, opening seating

Things I love and commend: great food, when the wedding is conveniently located to a major airport with lots of high-end hotels in the area

Things I dislike: Too many people stuffed at one round table! Long delays in table releases for buffets.

In a good way: venue, food, drinks, overall fun vibe.

In a bad way: too hot/cold, cash bar or dry wedding, potluck food or dry hotel chicken.

Good food, good music, and anything unique to the couple (be it ceremony, quirky decor, a special dance, etc.).

Things I don't notice: pretty much everything else. I may briefly notice if it's a particularly beautiful space, but I won't really remember.

If there's not enough food/bad food, I WILL remember that, and not fondly.

There are things that I never remember... Like the wedding cake. The first dance song. I always remember good company though ;-) I went to a lot of weddings being single, not knowing anyone, and I had real fun ;-)

I definitely look at weddings differently after having organised one myself ;-)

Good things : touching ceremony, good organisation, nice atmosphere, people having fun, music for everyone.

Bad things : a room too big for the number of guests, organising a dancefloor for 20 people (nobody was really dancing...), no food or drinks after starting the party, for like 4 hours (common French thing...)

I realized recently that I only pay attention to decor/signs/pinteresty things now that I'm planning my own, but I couldn't tell you anything about those for any of the weddings I attended prior to being engaged. So I've basically put those as "backburner" things if we have the budget.

The big things are good food/drinks, the venue overall (went to a ceremony that the surrounding area was so loud you couldn't hear anything - hated it), and entertainment. A good DJ/band can make everything better.
