What do you do to destress from wedding stress?

Futuremrsk, on July 29, 2019 at 5:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 1 23
So had a stressful morning with some wedding stuff. I decided to bake to destress. I love the methodicalness of baking and the hum of my kitchen aid. I also got some new piping tips, and am trying to learn how to decorate better. Made some cupcakes, vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting. Oh and I poured myself a nice drink to go with!

What do you do to destress when wedding planning gets to you?

These look amazing!!! I wish I had something to de-stress me. Our biggest hurdle was getting a venue and I felt like I was going to pull my hair out the whole time. If I wasn't working on figuring out something for the wedding, looking for venues or something like that, I felt like I was lazy and wasting my time and ruining my own wedding!

Now I can relax somewhat, but I still work so much I don't have a lot of time for hobbies. But, I do have a learn-to-knit kit that my brother got me for my birthday, I should try to crack into that!

Wow those look so good i wish i could bake like that . Yours is what I wish mine come out looking like ahaha. I just took days or time where I don't do anything wedding related . It's easy for wedding planning to take over your thoughts and time.

Thank you! I got a dessert recipe book at our shower so used a recipe from there! They are so yummy!!
You should definitely try knitting! I've dabbled in knitting and crochet, and find both relaxing once you get the hang out it!

Thank you!! I've been baking since I was little with my grandma and my mom! Finally got a kitchen aid and it makes such a difference, especially with the frosting! Right now, the next 10ndays are all wedding lol! Everyday we've got something going on, it's so close!!!

So cute!! I love baking but I prefer doing it with a friend rather than alone!

Miniature work helps calm me. The tiny details require concentration so I can't focus on anything else that's stressing me out lol 😂

That would be fun to do together!! 😍 we love cooking breakfast together on weekends.

I don't wanna overload you with pictures lol!! But here is some of my current project (pink house & purple chair) and my last project (blue house & pink fridge.) I do these with my mom. Excuse the fridge lol it didn't come out the way I wanted but I didn't have time to scrap it and start over lol.

    They look so good.
I either workout or watch old episodes of criminal minds (it’s my favorite show) depending on my stress level.

    Whatever is available 😂
I work quite a bit as well so it’s difficult to find time to fit everything in simultaneously...unfortunately. Still looking for my dream job as well of doing whatever I want whenever and get paid for it so let me know if y’all have any leads and help a girl out 🤣
I enjoy a plethora of activities. Most of them outdoor. I do love crafts, drawing, painting, photography, at the moment trying to learn how to crochet with my mom and it’s so much more difficult than it seems (at least to me it is lol), kayaking. Fishing, hunting, & I immensely love to swim. Again though it’s between finding the time to do that and the place since we don’t have a local pool nor lake. I wish we had one at our own house however I’m still trying to convince FH of this 😆
mostly as of now I just watch/listen to what soothes me if I don’t have time for photography:
like asmr, ghost stories, spending time with friends and family (especially those I haven’t seen in awhile, watching true crime videos, & even just listening to music helps a lot.

In general I workout and clean in order to de stress. I know a lot of people don’t get the cleaning on but I love it 😂 I’m also an angry cleaner lol. Love your baking!!! I try to set certain time to plan and I list out what I am trying to get done and what I need to do in order to make it happen. I throw my air pods in and work! It also often plan with friends which always helps

Run and run some more. Prayer. Lots of prayer. I'm planning within a short-time period. Even so, it all seems to be coming together. Praise God!

For me creative wedding DIYs always relax me, like making our signs, or geometric shape centerpieces, or my jewelry. Basically anything creative works 😌 so if I’m frustrated with something, I switch to doing a creative project.

FH & I also take quiet, chill-in-bed, hugging & snuggling breaks, when we are on wedding overload & we love those so much 🤗 There is a quote from a psychologist: “we need 4 hugs a day for survival, 8 for maintenance & 12 for growth” & this is so true for me & any kind of stress lol.
