What do bouquets normally cost?

Ericka, on March 8, 2016 at 11:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 50

I am going to speak with some florists today i was originally going to DIY my bouquet and have my BM carrying lanterns I am just wondering on cost l am now weighing all my options when it comes to my flowers real vs fake, should the entire party carry flowers, is the stress of making them worth it vs having someone else do it Im just not sure I was wondering what kind of cost i would be looking at if a florist does it and will I have sticker shock ?

My florist said bridal bouquets start at $160 and usually don't go above the $250 range. Bridesmaid bouquets are usually in the $50 to $70 range. The higher end for bridal bouquets are cascading bouquets or bouquets with exotic/out of season flowers. I'm attaching a picture of mine...it is $170 and made up of white roses, white hydrangas, red berries, and cedar evergreen. Bridesmaid bouquets are basically smaller versions without the evergreen and cost $55 each. All these flowers are easily accessible and seasonal for my florist, so I'm at the bottom end pricewise.

I know it varies depending on the florist and the area that you are located in. With a florist in Nashville, my bouquet with toss bouquet is costing around $150. The bridesmaids are carrying smaller versions of my bouquets, and they are going to be $50 each. The bouts for the groom and groomsmen are around $15 each and corsages for the mothers are around $20. This was one of the best rates that I found with a florist and flowers that I liked. I am using garden roses and hydrangeas. I originally wanted to DIY, but then I thought I would be too stressed out close to the wedding, so I decided to go with a florist. I have heard some people have used grocery stores such as Whole Foods and they got better rates! Sam's Club sells flowers in bulk that you can use if you would like to DIY. That is a pretty cost effective option! Best of luck!!

It depends what you get and what they do.

    Are flowers in season?

How many stems are in your bouquet?

    Is it an expensive flower?

    Are their multiple flowers?

Mine was just 1 dozen roses. A common flower, in season and a average sized bouquet so I think mine was just $30!

My girls each had 6 white roses. In retrospect I would have made theirs bigger, 12 stems, and mine 18, but it looked fine!

Hi, Ericka! It varies greatly depending on the flowers, the florist, and where you're located. Mine was done by my grocery store florist, and it was very simple (just white gerberas, baby's breath and greenery), and was about $70.

My florist quoted me about 85 for something like these:

Regionally and seasonally diverse. In my area (nyc/nj) bridals are usually 150-300 and BM's 75-100.

I did however tell her that I'm not too picky but want those types of colors and tons of greenery. I told her to use in season flowers and what not. That's probably why my quote was lower.

My bridal bouquet is $100, and my bridesmaids bouquets are $40 each.

The attached picture is what I showed my florist for my bouquet, and I told her that I'd like my bridesmaids to have smaller, all white versions of my bouquet.

Our quote is $150 for my bouquet, $65 for BMs bouquets, and $15 per boutonniere. It depends greatly on your area, season, and type of flowers you want.

It really depends on your flowers and your florist. I got lucky with mine. My FMIL is a florist and my boquets are mostly comprised of babys breath. Mine will have some white roses thrown in. My boquet will probably be around $50 and the BMs bouquets around $10 a piece, but again, I'm not paying for labor.

Mine is $150 for 30 bloomed blush pink roses. My bridesmaids are $35 a piece- only 2-3 pink roses and babys breath. Super simple.

The biggest factor determining the price of your bouquet I would assume will be the types of flowers you choose...and then how big you want the bouquet (# of flowers). Then things like the region you are in and whether you are using a florist vs. a grocery store will very much effect the price as well. For example, mine was $250...it was fairly large and I had several peonies (which are fairly expensive). I used a florist for all my florals and am in Houston, TX....here are a few pics of mine.

I had handmade sola wood and burlap bouquets that I ordered through TheSunnyBee on Etsy- it was $145 for mine and $65 for the bridesmaids. My wedding was the same weekend as Valentine's Day so it was nice to avoid the rush and the rose surcharges and we have pretty keepsakes. I ordered off-season so her prices may be higher now, but she was a breeze to work with and everything looked great.
