What did you include on your wedding website?

Brianna N, on July 17, 2019 at 10:27 AM Posted in Planning 2 10

Hey everyone! I sent my invites out yesterday, so I am trying to make sure that I have everything on my wedding website. I have hotel information, details about ceremony and reception (time, place, etc.), pictures, registry. I have seen people put bridal parties and love stories, etc... what all did you include on yours?

    I put the essentials. RSVP, hotels, transportation, ceremony details so people could decide what to wear, a photo, and registry. I also put a contact email in case anyone had additional questions.

    We had a backstory of us, little bios for the wedding party/how they know the bride and groom, hotel block details, event details, rsvp/song requests, a photo album, and a contact us page for any other questions.

    * Wedding venue time, directions etc...

    * Friday cocktail event and Sunday Brunch event information

    * A little bit of our story...

    * List and small bio of wedding attendants in the wedding party

    * Wedding day schedule - We decided to not print up programs and figured that this would help communicate the schedule to everyone

    * Section noting that we are requesting an unplugged wedding ceremony (JUST the ceremony)

    * Block Hotel and VRBO links to the surrounding area

    * Dress code - additional section on where to rent a kilt if the men wanted to partake in wearing kilts to the wedding

    * Links of things to do in the surrounding area (stuff that can be done indoors if raining or if they have mobility issues; stuff outdoors like hiking trails, corn mazes (Oct wedding)

    * Detailed description and a pic of each choice of menu for the wedding reception (many thanks to our caterer for helping with this one)

    * Registry page

    * Virtual guestbook

    * Gallery of fun photos of us being dorks and loving life

    * Pretty much also an embedded a link so that they could RSVP on any individual tab on the website

    My wedding website included the electronic RSVP, tidbits/story, wedding party info, Q&A with details such as: food choices, adult only, RSVP deadline, +1 policy (if people can bring random +1s), arrival time and location, reasoning for reception only, dress code, parking (with pricing), registry info, you get the point.

    We put in a blurb about the dress formality (formal), some fun details about how we know each member of the wedding party, and also included some ideas of fun things guests could do since most will be traveling in from out of town

    I tried to keep it simple and just put where it is located, all travel information for out of town guests (airport, hotel block, etc.), a little intro to our wedding party, and some pictures of us (:

    I was told we had one of the most informational wedding websites they had ever seen. Our goal is to alleviate stress for our guests, as well as us. I've put many hours into this website. I have a Home page waiting for wedding pics, how grateful we are that guests are willing to travel to celebrate with us, any pertient info that everyone needs to see because all will look at your Home page. Our website will not be open until after our elopement ( destination wedding). Our wedding announcements and reception invitation will go out in January. Then Home page is followed by FAQ's on any questions our guests could possibly ask, Wedding party, Schedule, Points of Interest ( from restaurants, to little hole in the wall dives with great food, museums, zoo's, IMAX's and other points of interests), Registry, and then Photos. This is a destination reception for most of my guests, so some may wish to turn it into a vacation. Best wishes!!

    I put the names of the bridal party and FAQs in addition to what you have. Otherwise, I didn't feel the need to put the "Our story" section because chances are not many people access the website.
