What are your thoughts on dry ice wedding dances? Are you having it?

Kemmie, on December 2, 2014 at 11:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

I think they're not used that much anymore but my mom was suggesting it to me. I don't really like the idea, plus I heard its a hazard as it make the dance floor slippery.

Not a fan. Is it supposed to be symbolism for being on cloud 9?

The smell can be gross, it can be a hazard and some venues don't even allow it. it kind of screams 1987-ish.

Ok I agree! I'm hoping you ladies can give me viable reasons to my mom so I can get the idea out of her head without hurting her feelings haha

Yeaaaah, that's a bit much. That's a little too theatrical for me. It would remind me of 'Phantom of the Opera' or a 'Musical on Ice!' type production

Kemmie, just say, its not my style, not a fan, no thanks. you could say the venue veto'd it but it you're letting her push you about this, she may be the kind of mom that will go ask the Venue. just say you just don't want to do it.

Just like Andi said...it smells awful, is hard to move in, and can make it hard to breathe. Pretty, yes, but I would say it's definitely not worth it.

If you're a professional dancer and you and FH are going to KILL your first dance and have tons of cool lighting and great audio and an elevated stage DO ITTTT... if you don't then I wouldn't

It can be really bad for those with asthma...but I think they can look really beautiful if done right.

I don't have asthma as far as I know and I still don't like breathing that stuff in. Makes my lungs feel weird.

My DJ offered something called "dancing on the clouds" - not sure if it was dry ice but same idea. I thought it was tacky AND it was like several hundred dollars extra. I don't get it.
