What are your signature drinks?

Jennifer, on May 2, 2018 at 9:17 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 57

What are your signature drinks? Are they going with your theme or are they the couples favorite drinks? Are you naming them something cute wedding wise or using their actual drink names? Or are you skipping this totally?

We skipped it. We paid our bar on consumption so we didn’t think it made sense to pay for drinks that may get wasted. Also, we only had 71 guests so we didn’t think the bar would get overwhelmed, which is really the reason to have drinks pre-poured.

If we do one it will be something low proof. Some kind of sangria or spritzer, maybe? I don't want drunken nonsense at my wedding. I'm ok with getting tipsy and making bad decisions but no passing out or starting fights.

Our signature drink is strawberry shortbread sangria. Our wedding is in April in the evening and we wanted something light and refreshing for our guests after our outdoor ceremony. I LOVE sangria so when our bartender mentioned it I knew that was going to be it. It's delicious! We might rename it to Sweetheart Sangria but we haven't decided yet.

We're having signature margaritas! No fancy names, just "his" and "hers".

Mine is a grapefruit basil margarita, and FH's is strawberry.

We are doing his favorite: rum and cola and her favorite: spiked Arnold Palmer (lemonade/tea/citrus vodka).

We had a margarita. Didn't go with the theme, it just tasted really good.

We are keeping things very simple too Moscow Mule and Manhattan. The Moscato lemonade sounds AMAZING! I might have to rethink my Moscow Mule (my choice).

We threw old fashioned around as well, he may change his mind. FH is a huge whiskey drinker and is having a whiskey tasting at the welcome party. Kentucky Mule = yummm!

I love the two limes part! Whenever we go out I order Vodka Soda with three limes, they all make fun of me but I muddle the heck out of those limes and it's the way I love it. We are choosing ours based on our favorites as well.

Yes! The limes have to be muddled in the bottom of the glass. FH laughs at me for ordering it specifically with 2 limes.

Fiancé and I are HUGE craft cocktail drinkers. Our wedding has an "old Hollywood" 1930's feel to it so I was thinking we would do French 75s, Manhattans, and aviations. I also really love a classic daiquiri (rum, lime juice, simple syrup....NOT FROZEN), so we might add that too.
