What are your GROOMS' must haves?

We all know that the bride does most of the planning in the wedding, except obviously in same sex couples (but usually even then the majority is on one bride/groom and the other tends to be less involved)..... What are the requests that your Fiance has had? FH wants to do the bouquet and garter...

What are the requests that your Fiance has had? FH wants to do the bouquet and garter toss, and that's pretty much it other than his being adamant that green is one of our wedding colors.

My Husband was the one who wanted the big wedding. I was fine with running off to Vegas with only our closest family there. He is also a super traditional person and doesn't think out of the box very much.

    1. Absolutely no first look

    2. Big wedding with the whole family there

    3. Yellow as one of the colors

    4. All the guys matching

    5. Good food and cake

    6. Not seeing the dress before the big day

Cheap, tradition wedding (no cupcakes), cheap, and more cheap. He also wanted a small wedding with 50 people but we are up to 97. His fault not mine!

    He's adamant that we:

    * have a blue/gold dr. who wedding.

    *have an open bar

    *have great food

    *don't do a first look

*don't get pressured into things by family

All in all he's extremely easy to work with, and I love that he wants to be involved in the planning

He wanted good food and good cake. (he got to choose the caterer and bakery. lol.) he is also in charge of booze, because that's important to him. he wanted a photo booth, he got that. he has chose our first dance song. he was pretty adamant on no flowers on the cake, but he finally gave that up and compromised a little with me since he's getting a groom's cake.

FH has actually been very opinionated and involved in planning, or at least making decisions. part of me is happy for that... and another part wishes he just didn't give a crap and i could do whatever i wanted. lol. we are learning to compromise. kind of. Smiley tongue

He is in charge of our website, since he is a programmer and knows what is what with that kind of thing. He has also done a wonderful job on it.

He wanted a full meal for the reception. Doesn't want to know anything about my dress. Solo piano for ceremony. Traditional vows. Small cake for us to cut (for the purpose of cake smashing). Wants to wear a vest. Large wedding with all family and friends. Not outdoor.

It sounds like a lot I guess, but we actually work together really well and our vision for what we want is quite similar. So far he has been helpful and supportive when I need advice and mostly said that I could do whatever I want (after we set the budget, which was important to both of us). Wedding planning with him has definitely confirmed that he is the man I want to live with for the rest of my life! Smiley smile

Oh wait. I thought of another one. How could I forget this one!? I guess I blocked it out. He wants a grooms cake of him riding a shark, playing guitar, and me holding on to the back of him, with bananas somewhere in the "water". He's a guitarist and shark fisherman and the bananas are an inside joke from Life of Pi since "bananas don't float" and he has to say that line any time we are by bananas and it drives me bananas! I hate it lol!

He was really adamant that we have a classic, tall wedding cake. I had suggested cupcakes to save money (three words: cake cutting fee), but he insisted. I thought it was kind of a funny thing for him to feel so strongly about, but we were able to find an awesome deal.

FH wanted the final say in caterer, which is fine because he's buyin' and we got to use my choice for the rehearsal dinner anyway.

He didn't want to cheap out. He said, if we're going to do it, we're going to do it right.
