What are you and your Soon-to-be Spouse Doing to Keep Busy?

Lisa, on March 19, 2020 at 3:26 PM Posted in Community Conversations 2 32

With the recent direction from many State and National Leaders to 'Social Distance' and in some cases shutting down nonessential businesses; what are you and your future spouse doing to keep busy!? Wedding DIY's, at-home workouts, reading new books, watching new shows, etc?

Luckily, I'm still working in my office during regular business hours (keeping our distance in our offices, no walk-ins, and being sanitary) but FH is laid off and his trade school is temporarily closed because of the Strip is closed here in Vegas. He is bored at home with our dog, Simba, photo below! He's playing Madden (traded Tom Brady to the Bucs to start practicing for next year Smiley xd ).

    Your dog is adorable!

I'm a nurse so I'm still leaving home to go to work, FH is still going to work as well. He works in a warehouse.

To keep myself occupied after work, I'm doing home workouts, watching things on tv, playing with our dog, and will soon be working on some more wedding DIY.

I'm still working. We thankfully have no cases by us (yet). My office is doing the same as yours including only doing telephone conferences right now. No office conferences until April at the earliest they have said. My FH is off of work right now, he works at a pain clinic that does injections for joints and things. Where the main office is in Milwaukee, WI they had a doctor tested for the virus so for the safety of their patients and co-workers they are currently down until April 6th. Right now my FH is making dinner every night for the most part, playing video games, watching Russian soccer or something like that since there aren't any sports on lol and playing with the dog. I know he said he is going stir crazy and it's only day 4.

Wedding stuff is going good, but having a hard time even thinking about doing some of things I need to do soon with everything going on. I'm just looking forward to when we can at least not be shutdown and can get out and do things again!

Right now both FH and I are working in our offices, but we’re planning to spend the weekend playing games, binging shows, cleaning, dancing, cooking, reading aloud to each other, all the things we usually do but for longer periods.

My FH is working from home. My job is closed for at least 2 weeks so I’m on mommy duties with our little fur babies What are you and your Soon-to-be Spouse Doing to Keep Busy? 2
making sure they stay quiet while daddy’s on the phone 😀 & cooking, cleaning, etc. But not without binge watching some cool new tv shows 😎.

We're working... He works in trucking as a driver, and I work in Medical Manufacturing. If his industry shuts down we're all in trouble, and my company is trying to stay open as long as humanly possible. I did get out early today because of the snow. I got my monthly grocery shopping done (the store was surprisingly well stocked, I guess I buy weird stuff for the apocalypse), and I'm just hanging out and playing games on my laptop while eating donuts.

I'm a teacher so we've been closed for a couple days now. My fiancée works with only 2 other people so he's continued to go to work.

I've been organizing at home, cleaning, getting things done around the house that I usually would not have time for. I use Beachbody for my at-home workouts to continue getting wedding ready! But being right next to the kitchen all day is making it hard!

I've also started re-watching The Office as a feel good show to watch!

That’s good that your office is taking precautions! Lol FH (and I) are definitely missing our sports! That’s sweet that he’s making dinner. We try to get outside with our dog for a long walk a few days a week.

DH was working until this morning (Thursday), and then corporate tried to keep them open!

I have tried to go for walks, set up my Wii again (hey, it might be old, but it still works!), file for unemployment (site kept crashing), and also kind of take it easy, since I tend to run myself ragged.

Now that DH is home, too, we're going to try to set a bit of a schedule. Deep clean the apartment, video chat with friends and family (trying to get a big virtual dinner party going), try to find a creative outlet (we're both actors), and, um, perhaps "search for new hires" (as the internet joke is going about children as coworkers). Oh, and we've got to do taxes at some point. Yay.

That said, I give it about a week before we cave and subscribe to Disney+.

Thank you! You too! So far it hasn’t been that different from our regular routine because we’re both going into the office in the morning, but I expect that will change down the line.

We miss sports too. We have our extra bedroom decorated in sports decor with our favorite teams. Both of us love March Madness so this has been a weird month for us lol.

Thank you; it is always nice to hear when we have busy/stressful times like this! Smiley smile

It depends on what you guys are into, but some popular shows are:

Lucifer, Love Is Blind, 100 Humans, The Witcher, Locke & Key, Good Girls.

My favorites of those would be Locke & Key and The Witcher. 100 Humans is also entertaining because they test interesting theories about humans and put them through interesting tests in the name of science.

I work in the investment industry so we've been very busy and continue to go into the office. FH is a firefighter so he has been working as well. Life is still pretty normal for us, aside from being unable to go eat at restaurants. When we're home, we search for houses on Zillow because we're in the market to buy soon. Smiley smile
