What about the Stamps for RSVP??

Cece, on May 31, 2012 at 1:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 7

Question regarding stamps. Should I use the same featured stamps for the invitation as well as the RSVPcards? Is it tacky to use different featured stamps. In otherwords, if I use the love stamps for the invitation an a regular US stamp for the RSVP card.

I used standard stamps for everything. Yes - even the aloha shirt postcard stamps lol. You'll be fine Smiley laugh

We just used Forever Stamps for both invitations and RSVP envelopes.

We used the Bonsai stamps on our RSVP envelopes. I just asked at the post office to see the options they had for that rate and picked what I liked. They didn't match our invitations or the postage on our invitations at all but I thought they were actually really pretty.

Use whatever you want, not tacky at all!

Here's the secret.... about 98% of your invitees won't pay attention to the stamps. Use whatever stamps you want.

Someone ordered vintage stamps, and very very few of her guests commented on them.

Make sure to weigh your envelopes, even post cards to double check the stamps are correct. Most brides take theirs to two different post offices. (If that's an option.)

Cece, your situation is exactly what I ended up doing. Red Love stamps on my outer envelopes, because they were available while standing at the Post Office waiting to mail my invites, and standard US Forever stamps on my RSVP cards, because those were more convenient to pick-up on my way home from work.

No one has said anything. Only comments I've received are how lovely the invitations were. Same thing will happen to you also, I'm sure of it. Smiley smile

It was just pure luck that the stamps we used for our RSVPs had beautiful flowers on them, which goes with the envelope. No one has commented on the stamps though, but have gotten ones about the invites.

Our actual invite stamps just have animals on them. Here in Canada you can't customize larger postal amount stamps, you just get what they have. A little sad Smiley sad
