We're having to postpone our April wedding

Karen, on March 14, 2020 at 7:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
I'm still in denial. I can't really make myself real family and friends about the sudden change in plans. Our weddding was on April 30 and because Covid 19 the DoD has placed a travel ban on military personnel until mid May. As much as it saddens me I know there's nothing we can do and it sucks. We can only hope that our venue and vendors are understanding about our situation and we dont end up losing our deposits. Is anybody else having to postpone??

Yep. We were 4/4, but things hit the fan when we were 22 days out. My FH's niece is quarantined due to her teacher testing positive, so she wouldn't make it. And my FH's mom is immunocompromised and should not move right now. We made the tough decision yesterday because they were necessary for us. Our vendors were super understanding and allowed us to move with the same plans for a date in August. It was heartbreaking but we need our family with us.

My sister just postponed her wedding from 3/28 to 5/23. She has been a mess all week (rightfully so). Basically when she thought she was finalizing contracts this week, everything flipped today and she talked to vendors, the venue and the church all day and got the date locked in before another couple swooped in and took it. I feel for her so bad, it’s heartbreaking. And my wedding is in October so my parents kind of want to pull their hair out right now. But it’s all good! Everyone will get through this. As my mom says, “one bride at a time”
