We're eloping!

So originally we were going to have our full wedding June 5th, 2020. There have been some unfortunate financial problems recently and we've decided to just elope. I realized it would be irresponsible to continue to plan pur wedding for the set date. We're planning to elop either during spring break or June of 2020. We will push the date back with our venue to a later time to have a reception and possibly vow renewal ceremony in 2021.

Does anyone have any words of advice or any recommendations for places to elope? It will most likely be me, fh, our son, and my mom. Thanks everyone!

First, congratulations on coming to that decision. Eloping can be as exciting as you make it! At least that’s what I tell myself daily, because I really want to elope and do a larger celebration later with family and friends. Eloping can potentially free up $$ to splurge in other areas (such as photography, videography) to create a truly magical, intimate event.

Here are a few recommendations:

A place that holds sentimental value to you both (maybe a favorite place you go or where you first met or first kissed, or where your favorite sporting team plays, to name a few);

Botanical Gardens, Lake, Aquarium or State Park (with beautiful scenery);

Destination elopement some place where you really want to go! Be cautious of laws/requirements that would allow you to officially marriage if you go outside of the country;

A museum or art gallery…

I could probably go on for hours lol. ☺️

Thanks for the article! We will travel pretty far as long as we can find affordable plane tickets.
