On the invitation it said 3pm...get there around 2:30-2:45 to make sure we are not late. The church wasn't even open and a bunch of us were standing outside just waiting for them to unlock the doors! When we get inside I heard someone say that the wedding starts at 4 and it said that on the wedding...

When we get inside I heard someone say that the wedding starts at 4 and it said that on the wedding website. I actually had gone to the website and did not notice it saying that because it was at the end of a very long paragraph!

I get that people want to put an earlier start time but 1 hour early is ridiculous! The most i would ever recommend putting is 30 minutes. Thankfully we were hungry so we just left and got some food really quickly but I would have been really annoyed sitting in a church for an hour! The MOG didn't even know the invitations said 3pm and she was mortified!

So a word of caution to those of you who want to put an earlier start time on the invitation: PLEASE DO NOT MAKE IT MORE THAN 30 MINUTES!

If you're worried about people coming late make a sign for the church door that says please do not enter wedding in progress. And hang it when the bride has entered the church.

I arrived 15min after our invites said at our wedding. The one person who came late met us at the reception adn I was thankful he hadn't interrupted.

Our wedding invites stated 12:30 p.m. start time for the ceremony. Bridesmaids started walking down that aisle at 12:32. My family is always early or on time for things and the wedding wasn't going to be any different.

We had 2 ushers who I told to close the doors at 12:30 p.m. One is 6'8 and the other trained to be a police officer. Trust me, no one was walking in late and no one did!
